Pond Fishing with ||MICRO CRANK BAITS||

Whattsssss going on guy's, Today I remembered a few week's back I was at Wally World looking around and an old man walked up to me and he had a few baits in his hand, he asked me if I had ever used these tiny baits, which i had not, so today I decided to go buy a few and fish our pond with them, haven't fished it much this year and never really threw any legit baits in there!!!!! I also grabbed a Whopper Plopper from Matt to give that a GO!!!!!!!

Lol yeah man, this was my dad's rod and found it in his basement after he passed, I fished it exactly how he had it set up??? Eventually the rod broke!!! But I've got the reel on a reg rod now

At my Walmart, we have the same crankbait for 1.25, and also crankbaits like the craw fish one and a mini rattle trap

Yesss I just bought a handful! Mini rattle traps, mini crawdads look amazing. Got one of everything they had. It was way too windy to try them yesterday tho 😢. Gonna try trolling them through some risky snaggy areas next time the wind picks up in the flooded trees where its protected in my lil jon boat. It's pretty fun snaking a long line thru the woods but it does get expensive.

At my local Walmart there are 3 of the same brand micro bbn lures you bought there are mini rattle traps,mini jerkbaits,and mini crankbaits like the ones you bought. But nice video bro stay bent 🎣🐟👊

I would throw them on like 6 pound test and a smaller spinning combo...these are perfect for pan fish!!

I have used these with 6lb 10lb 15lb and 20lb they will all work but best results are 6lb and 8lb for potential snags

You know , Walmart also carries cheap ultralight spinning rods. You should pick one up for that spinning reel. It would help cast those micro crank baits way better.

Yeah man I have a decent micro set up for crappie fishing!!! This was years ago when I first got into fishing and this was a rod and reel my dad had left in his basement when he passed away....so I grabbed it and started using it.... funny this silly little video still gets watched as much as it does lol...appreciate the info though 🤙🍻🎣

Anybody try slow trolling these? Its always way too windy to cast them but i like to troll as slow as i can laps through some flooded trees where ive lost too many expensive rapalas lol. Its as much a boat handling challenge as it is a fishing challenge, but its about the only place i can fish my little jon boat in the wind. I use an ice fishing rod so i dont get it hung up in the branches. The rapalas and Yuzuris get pricey. Walmart had a bin of these for 1.25 ea so I grabbed one of each.

@@BASSnBEER I completely understand brother. I’ve got all of my dad’s old fishing equipment also. I left everything just the way he left it. I even have a very old “bait cast” reel mounted on an all metal rod that was his dads. Makes them feel just a little closer. I even carry one of his arrows in the quiver on my bow. Keep fishing brother!

6 lbs but I'd say u could get away with using 4lb and get a little better cast

Very nice video! I see these and bought one from Walmart but when i try to straight retrieve the crankbait it doesn't dive down! It just starts doing twirls on top of the water and it wasn't doing anything else. I tried lowering the retrieve same thing happens. Any help on what is happening because i know these work and catch fish but if i cant use them properly it isn't worth me buying them. anyway great video keep it up!

Did you try giving it just a small pop right before you start cranking?? Sometimes that will get that bill under the water also how fast are you retrieving it?? Its been quite some time since I used one of these little guys

@@BASSnBEER at first i was retrieving it a bit too fast because then it was skipping on top of the water. Then i slowed it to a moderate pace like in your video but same thing it didn't dive. It was then diving for half a second then coming back up. Also no i didn't give it a pop will have to try that.

I had this same problem and it was twirling at the top and a bass blew up on it so I guess it worked it but I never tried popping it, I’ll have to try it out too

@@IIamjj You need to go really slow like slower then you would think. They don't dive deep but if you don't want it to spin reel slowly.

When a crankbait pulls or rolls, slightly bend the eye you tie to the other way. Pulls right, bend left. Pulls left, bend right.

i see these at my walmart. They work. Are you using an ultralight to throw these mini crankbaits i only have a medium light how would that do spooled with 8 pound test line. I know that lure is very light. overall very nice video and keep it up.

Well back when I made this video, I was using my dads combo he had left in his basement after he passed away!! Its just an old mix match deal!! Spinning reel on a casting rod it looks like!!! But I would absolutely sling one of these on an ultralight set up now!! Could probably get away with 6 pound test as well

Setup should be ultra lite fast with lite line to match the ultra lite lure. Too firm of a setup with those small hooks and you’ll have a tendency to not get a good hookup.

It's a cheap Walmart Shimano reel and not sure what rod, but that rod is ment for a casting reel, this is a set up I found of my dad's after he passed, all of his other rods and stuff got gone, this was the last one I was able to get
