This isn't meant as a jab,but the opening in the middle,defeats the purpose of the covers. In that you won't retain any heat,as it will all escape through the opening. Even a plastic sheet or bubble wrap will keep the heat in over leaving it open. I have built a pergola over mine and used 1000 gage plastic from Screwfix to cover the pond,using the pergola as the structure. Leaves it that heat can build in there like a greenhouse,so retains more heat and cuts out the wind which is the main cause for temp drops. Hope you take this how it is meant and get through the winter ready to fill your pond again. Looking good Johnny and 🤞 no more mishaps or issue's 👍

Thanks mate and yeah a nice tone to it and appreciate your opinion dude. I just do it to keep the wind chill of a bit to stop quick drops in temp, keep leaves and debi fro the tree out is no1 job TBH and the koi seem to like it when its on. Defo want a pergola though, cheers mate

@@koifishjohnny glad to help and could use the post shoes/boots on each corner and have it just for the pond if you like? Would tie in nicely with the way you have it already and is great for putting whatever cover you want for the winter. Temps hold way better and don't have to worry about venting so much that way.
