This is so great - it's exactly what we'd like to do with our pond that is 60 years old and almost this exact same size and shape (I also commented on another of your videos today). Our pond is a frog/salamander/dragonfly habitat, no fish, and we want to keep it that way. It fills naturally from runoff coming from the mountain behind it and there is also an outlet channel to prevent overflow. It has a stone border just like this one and I'd *love* to install a stone terrace at one end just like this one. I also love the shallow underwater shelf with reeds, that would look great in our pond.

You nailed the water spill, it does actually look as if it has worn its way into the yard Ed. Loved the closing underwater shots !

Thanks Tony-I find it’s important to make sure a cascade is built into the ground/lower then ground level, rather then sitting on top (as is frequently the case) and this helps to make it look more natural! Thanks for watching and commenting as always! Best, Ed

Thanks for your kind words! Rudd are underrated in my opinion-a lovely addition to a pond and a very heron resistant fish as well! Thanks for watching and commenting! Best, Ed

@CrystalClearAquatics @Ed soooo nice, very idyllic and charming!! I would like such service and commitment into ponds you do here in my country Switzerland 😊. I have 'only' a high constructed pond of 1.6m3🙈. My aim would be a 10m3 , but I need a bigger garden. Cheerz from Switzerland.🍻

What’s your take about owners dogs drinking from the ponds , as dog saliva is bacterial to them but having it in the pond will it affect the fish , keep vids coming thanks

Morning! I’m no scientist but no-personally i’d have no concerns about pond livestock should my pet dog decide to drink from the pond. I very much doubt any bacteria from the dog would be able to transfer to the pond and pose a threat. I’d be more concerned about my dog contracting something from the pond water to be honest!! I would obviously try to discourage any pet going into a pond however- there’s always a risk the pond lining, pipework planting etc could incur some damage. Hope this helps, thanks as ever for watching and commenting! Best, Ed

Brilliant as always Ed. A quick question if you don’t mind, do you just chop the plant buds off and discard them? Thanks
@CrystalClearAquatics
@CrystalClearAquatics Жыл бұрын
Hi there! Thanks for watching and commenting! Yes-re the expired flower buds on the iris (and many other flowing pond marginals) simply cut away the bud and stem as close to the crown/base of the plant as possible and discard. Hope that helps! Best, Ed
