My 2010 electric power steering was not working correctly. There was a recall on them. But I just went up under the steering column and wiggled the wires and sprayed lubricating spray around it and it cleared up also. My question. Is why in the hell dont they put a simple power steering pump on these cars and not all this computerized bullshit

It can depend on your car but for those who need a miracle , this may work .

the battery has nothing to do with the steering. the voltage all has to do with your generator/alternator

This car has electric steering, not hydraulic. Changing the battery works

Yea i had somebody do work on my Ford fusion i had a interlock program that was attached to my battery. Soon as it was night time i was at a restaurant my wheel 🛞 became stiff. I just did something with my battery all was good after

did you replace the battery 2 times? sounds like you have an electric motor assistant under your dash on the steering column and that's where the problem is mine would go out while driving and it's dangerous you never know when it's going to go out it could go out while turning on a curve and when it does go out it pulls in the opposite from your turning steering won't lock up but very hard to turn wheels

I got a new brand new battery less then a year ago. My steering wheel will lock up and service vehicle light will come on (not the check engine light) but when I turn the car off and back on it will usually began working again but when I am stopped at a light my wheel will shake. Could the battery be the problem or is it a fuse ?

Colton randle it did that to me too.When i turned it off and back it would work fine.I dont think its the fuze

@@juanguitron7693 i replaced my unit and now im back in the same boat after 35 days. Shop had a 30 day warranty!! Go figure!! Anyhow im gonna try the battery and hopefully it works. Prices are crazy high with core deposits on them. Dorman has recalled the recall part as well! Wish me luck!!

Be careful !!! Next phase is it goes out WHILE you are driving!!! It looks just like what is covered under recal... mine says it was already fixed or didnt need to. They are sooo wrong! The easy fixes are temporary.

Oh yea man mines got 219000 an running great. Had it since it was at 160000 an I only had to replace a strut and caliber so she's running good for me to. There amazing cars if taken car of

I see what your'e saying, Juan - it's an "easy fix" if the problem is a dead battery - as you say in the video, if the problem is something else, it's not going to fix that.

mines GT2006 Pontiac Did This After replacing the battery Has Nothing to do with Electronic power steering Freezing Locking Up Or turning off the Vehicle The Electronic power steering Part has to be replaced I As one of the Three recalls by GM I Had no problem with My Transmission or Electronic power steering At all now I have to call To get the Vehicle towed to a GM Dealership & pay for the towing the part Ain't gonna be in stock You can Call a auto parts Warehouse Who likely has This part What sucks is Finding the part Then having it replaced With your mechanic or Certified Dealership if it's Still a Recall You won't pay for the part or labor

Steering Steering angle sensor fixes the "shaking wheel" issue. The electric motor failure is usually with the plug that connects to the motor. The electric motors rarely fail but the connectors fail, especially from fretting. So best bet is to pull the connector out, clean the connection and apply grease (dielectric grease can help with fretting without sacrificing connection, it also helps with voltage leak). It seems counterintuitive to apply dielectric grease to a fitting since dielectric grease acts as a non conductive insulator, but it does help keep a secure connection. If your pins are extremely worn then get yourself a new connector. Edit: spelling
