Pontiac 428 engine makes 1000+ horsepower warming up on the dyno

This is a KRE built 428 cid engine that features a MR-1A aluminum block and a set of KRE Warp 6 heads. This engine makes over 1000+ HP at 9500 rpm. The video just doesn't do this engine justice!

THE 1970/ 428 trans AM was rated at 390 H.P from the factory. It all so came with leather driving gloves, I on the window sticker at Pontiac Garage in Readfield Maine in the Dec 1969 just before I got drafted into the ARMY and the Bank would loan me the money as I was going in the ARMY. Then i got out of the ARMY i bought a 66 GTO with a blown 389 i replace it with a 1969 Firebird Formula 400 H. O with 60k out of a junk yard In Lewiston Maine for $250.00 dollars with a $50.oo core on the old 389. Good Old Days those were the days my friend. Old Combat Vet from Viet-Nam 1970-71 MOS:13A10

Is that a 1,000 HP non aspirated and is that the timing on the front of the engine like the old 350 Chevy? So many questions I need answers

NON aspirated? Not quite sure what that means..... It is naturally aspirated = NO POWER ADDER. Yes that is a CHEVY STYLE water pump and this combo is running a timing belt

Block is a 4.620 bore space block. Those heads would bolt to a stock block as well. We didn't say OEM but it is a Pontiac!

428's weren't available from the factory in a firebird or trans am,and 1969 was the last year it was available in the large cars,cool story to ppl in bar though right?
