I have a 07 pontiac g6 2.4l, key ignition first click turns on dashboard and radio, have not checked headlights yet. Problem if I try to start it everything goes dead it does nothing.

@@JohnnyFontanez My Pontiac G6 is a 2009 2.4L I put in a new starter new neutral safety switch, new ignition switch, new alternator new battery new AC compressor checked all my grounds and I'm still having a no crank no start it only cranks over on cold days I can drive it for miles and miles but have to keep the engine running soon as I park and shut it off boom no crank have to wait another two days before it starts wiring nightmare

yes there is a fuel pump relay and its #37 right next to fuel pump fuse #25

I paid a buddy to change out my starter in snow. charging issues evolved a melt down of some wiring behind block and fireplaced battery twice alternator and finally got time to get under it yesterday and found frayed no insulation wired and on the part of the starter with 2 posts the top post had 2 wires with no nut holding em on and the lower post same area on starter had one wire with that part bonding to the starter (I assume it to be the ground. After looking at a diagram for starter it appears there is a third post toward the Bendix end and that connection looks like the strange not flat 90 degree with a 90 degree protruding finger that aligned into what appeared to be a slot for it to connect with one position only rather than flat head. The diagram i looked had 5 wires to connect mine has the three and two i assumed go the the missing sensor nearby on ground facing portion of a pan near starter with missing sensor. But it is possible those two are also suppose to go on on starter so i repaired em electrical tape and plastic protection smurf and left em unattached but no longer grounding out on anything. stared car went to home depot came out started fine. crossed street to burger king came out no start only a click. starter is 248. only store open and close. Now is see my relay config might be the issue because of you clarity in your explanation. My question is what colors go to what posts on starter and is the coil with the two copper threaded studs the only wires to connect or is there another post as it appears in a diagram for my g6 gtp 3.9? So colors and which post to put each on pls and where is the starter fuse just the one below the relay? because in the comments is a suggestion to arc fuse with a hard loop ty

Here is my issue...2006 g6 ... no crank...no start... fuses OK... relay terminals.. 12 v constant OK...ground OK...ignition 12 v excite OK when turning ignition to start position.... BYPASS relay with ignition on...car starts But put relay back in...no crank... AND relay not activating Any thoughts???

Same here, it's got to be that the relay is no longer fitting into the slots and making contact bc of the amount of times I've jammed the multimeter prongs down there. That or the relay is no good. If there is 12v from the 85/86 slot when the key is turned over then that should be it and the relay should close. I couldn't hear mine clicking close so tomorrow im going to pull up the fuse box and repair pin holes so the relay is no longer loose .

The terminal which is supposed to excite the relay measures 12v WHEN the ignition is turned to start position....AND YES I get 12v...BUT put the relay in and nothing... I have also try to poke, bend those ting tabs to make better contact...10 relays can't all be bad. I come to a conclusion that I am getting enough voltage to light up a test light...but not enough to excite the relay... the power to that terminal comes from inside the fuse box...not an external wire. I may just end up installing a hot wire bypass switch... problem solve...lol

It's clicking. Still fuses? Haven't checked starter yet. Battery is good. Jump starting does nothing. I assume relays or fuses if no click but I could be wrong so pls advice.

Looking at a 2008 Pontiac that does not crank after running/driving. Seems like a heat problem, will always start with no issues when cold. When the problem occurs I normally have to wait a couple of hours for things to cool down, after that it will crank and start with no hesitations. Any ideas on where to look at? Relays and fuses seem to be all right (switched/changed them with no difference). Any hints are appreciated.

I read that a few people said the fuse box in the trunk was faulty. They said it would get hot. They swap it out for a used one $20..do some searches on the web about it

@@talknheadz it seems that was my issue. I did not open the fuse box since it's built with those special screws you have to break to get inside the box. Thanks to another video I was able to identify the pins of the copper wire connection that runs inside the box. In my case it was a line that sends the control signal for the starter relay to the ground. So my temporary fix (until I find a good box that's reasonably priced) was to connect a cable to the pin that comes out of the starter relay and connect it to ground. Had to test continuity first to make sure I am doing the right thing. For now, the problem is solved. It seems to be an issue with this kind of fuse boxes in Pontiacs and Malibus.

Check the fuel pump relay, had the same problem got a new fuel pump but they didn’t replace the relay causing the pump to not get enough power so I replaced and had no issues

Thank you so much for the video you made I just jumbled onto it today even though that you made it a year ago I have a couple of questions for you if you don't mind. I stand the car and it said that it was the ECM I replace the ECM and reset it. Unfortunately that did not work I took the starter out went and had it tested unfortunately that was good and I have replaced the battery. What are the odds that you could get to bad relays at the same time I have full power to everything except to be able to turn the car over it clicks the gauges max out and then return back to normal I just can't seem to figure it out unless the test on the starter was bad or I got another bad ECM I bought a used one. Only due to a remanned one is 600 and some dollars and I know now I know the car was running when that computer was pulled out of it.. and there's nothing I would rather do than to take it to a specialist like you but a lot of folks like myself a very tight budget these days. So if there's anything you can think of I would much appreciate it. And thanks again for the video

What if there's NO power in the car at all. Its not cranking, no lights, no bells, the key fob doesn't even unlock the doors. But the battery is new.

Zamn I was about to give up because only had the click noise an if u don't figure out the problems after a few starts your done🤷 I tried all my tricks an then seen your video so I went to the back of my g6 gt an first time ever popped open the box, didn't even try to take any out because I already felt defeated,so I just pushed down on the fuse u mentioned than every other 1,ok wth I got to lose🤷a completely dead battery? So shift gears turn key an hell yeah now IAM in the car ready to leave💯
