@@ViceGripGarage For the sake of originality preservation, why didn't ya' have the original fuel tank boiled-out? Respectfully...from a '67 GTO owner, Ben
@CrashRacknShoot
@CrashRacknShoot Жыл бұрын
@@duygukayhanisaskank4915 1. because it's a fuel tank, so who cares. 2. Cleaning and beating on an old one brings up the high probability of both discovering and breaking through rot that you'll then need to repair and will take even longer to deliver. 3. Putting in a new quality one ensures you'll have a reliable working unit, which is far more important. It's not a Barrett Jackson, all parts matching, pristine museum-quality car. It is the baby of someone who enjoys a car that can be driven, not stored; the way it was intended. Reliability matters way more in those circumstances than an original fuel tank. Don't want the guy stranded on the side of the road with clogged lines or a leaking-then-empty tank for the sake of pride.

As I have said before, these specials you do for veterans are very heart rendering for me because I am a marine veteran and most specially of this era! In my book as a citizen of this great country enough cannot be done to thank the service men and women that make it possible for out freedoms and independence! Most folks don’t realize they are able to live in a country and be free to do pretty much what ever they want to do , travel and experience things that a lot of people in other countries are prohibited in doing! Because of the sacrifices, and the ultimate sacrifice of death during military combat , sacrifices of first responders police and fire department personnel they are kept safe to enjoy the freedoms of this great country! Thanks Derek and family for showing your respect and gratitude for these blessings we enjoy in this great U.S.A. 🇺🇸…. Regards Mad Mike. S. From the land of Freezing as cold☃❄🥶………

It’s an overwhelming consensus of the VVG community that you truly are. It’s what makes watching you so enjoying. And being a Chevy guy helps too. ❤️ loved how you did this little narrative as you drove off into the sunset. You are truly a blessing to all that watch. Always remember (and I’m sure you do) it’s, Yahweh or the highway. Lol. Stay humble. Stay awesome. Maybe one day I’ll be justa playin away on my vintage hodgepodge drum kit and I’ll look over to see you playin along on yer fiddle. We’d just be riffin. Only playin parts of songs. 😂. Or! That shot of the car at 28:50 really captures how good the styling was on the gto. Awesome video Derek.

Derek, I don't know if it's you or Jessica that chooses the music for your over-the-road footage, but it's always tasteful and relaxing, and totally appropriate for the occasion! And I've never heard ya do a voiceover, um, over the music, but that was nice too!

That's awesome Derek! Loved watching the other 2 parts of this series and this part too. We all have to take care of someone whether they're young or old and especially our veterans. We gotta respect one another and be willing to help the guy or gal standing next to us and those who we've never met before and that's what your teaching people, I love that keep doing what you do Derek because it's inspiring to many!

Great job of bringing the old GTO back around and especially for one of our Vets. You know when you start mumbling and walking off you remind me of "Festus Hagin" (the old Gun Smoke sidekick) and it gave me a big chuckle. You do have a special talent Derrick and you're where you "supposed to be". Thanks for sharing it.

Hi, Derek. Thanks for the wonderful gesture to complete this GTO for a veteran. It is so inspirational for what you, Jessica and the boys are doing. Well done and can't wait for October for the revivals. George, Cape Town, South Africa.

A Guy mighta teared up at the end thar a little bit. My first car love was the 66/67 GTO but I’ve never even sat in one. Bringing that gorgeous goat back from a sad state was emotional enough but then you had to go say those deep and heart felt words and the eyes got all itchy. That’s Derek. It’s good for all of us to see someone passionately doing exactly what they were made fer.
