Big Brother of the GTO Pontiac Catalina 2 + 2, the Goat !
1967 Pontiac Catalina based 2 + 2. This is my all time favorite car. This one is the GOAT or Greatest of All Time to me. Its special because my Dad owned one just like it when I was growing up. This is the car responsible for my fascination and passion for all things Automotive ! Only years later was I able to acquire 3 of 1768 made and will be continuing the resto it deserves and long overdue. The real GOAT …Enjoy !

My Dad had a burgundy colored 67 Catalina Executive which he sold me as my first car. As I lived in Minnesota it got pretty rusty but always loved that car!

Gotta love the styling Pontiac had back then. Stacked headlights and that sweeping fastback roofline. I was getting gas one day and an older gentleman walked over and said “man this one bad ride ! It looks like its going fast, while its sitting still”. I thought that was so fitting. Thanks for checking out the vid 👍🏾

@@onjunk4life yeah your Dad sounds like he was a cool dude! I always loved that distinct nose with the slightly canted front fenders and that bib fastback rear end. Nice job on the video too. It took me back!

Thing was it didn't take many options to get the price to over $5000 where the GTO was far cheaper with options. Those came out in '64 & ended in '67. I had a '65 in '67, 421 HO, 4-speed.

Thanks Unk ! Its awesome having you around to fill in the blanks and tell stories of Dads car (Your Brother) from the purchase, to him bringing it home and the many different set ups he had like the 3 deuce you told me about. The stories about him hanging out at Dynamic Auto (Dan) out in Delmar Ny and Dan putting factory experimental cams and intakes on for Dad to try out on the streets …. Legendary 👍🏾 God willing I will have her done very soon and you and I will take that ride for Dad aka Georgio !

Awesome car! Just to let you know they produced 1,768 in 1967. 280 were convertibles. One thing you might find interesting with the fathom blue you're restoring is that it is one of 397 automatic coupes with ac. And one thing that you're probably going to find funny is once I saw the Tyrol Blue car in the pic with the spinners and date stamp I immediately remembered it from PY. Merry Christmas Darrell! Will be looking forward to many more videos! Best regards, Dave

@@onjunk4life I was up to 6 2+2s 🤣4 hardtops and 2 convertibles. I ended up parting out one of the convertibles and one of the hardtops. Sold a column shift ac car to a guy in Iowa that was a huge project. I actually have a guy coming tomorrow to buy one of the other hardtops. I've also got a couple Bonneville Broughams. One is a coupe with a 428 and the other is 4 door 50k original miles. I'll be listing that 4 door for sale soon. I've also got a 67 Grand Prix convertible 428 car that I'll be selling in the spring. I am buying another 2+2 that I need to pick up yet. I have a handful of parts cars to that I need to part out. I've accumulated too much stuff and need to downsize! Hahaa!!

Thanks Hot Rod and thanks for checking it out ! That light blue one in video with the cragars was a Catalina I did just to be able to pick Dad up from the nursing home while this one was off to paint. It eventually got sold. The wife told me afterwards…That one was her favorite, go figure🤦‍♂️ LOL.

Thanks for watching. Its probably been close to a year since I took her down the road. Its been started and moved from garage regularly. Radiator is currently out being repaired at the moment but she’s a runner. Ironically thats what motivated me to get back on her and finish her up. Me too, I love full size sleepers 👍🏾👍

@@onjunk4life Can't wait to see your 2+2 finished with those beautiful 8 lug wheels. I'm in my late 60s now I grew up with these cars. It's so important that they survive especially one's like yours. It's really special because they only made 1700 of them, but what really makes yours extra special is because your dad bought it new.

Mannn that thing is incredible ! I like stock but totally appreciate the blend of technology, classic looks and drivability. They did an awesome job on that 66. Most folks confuse the 65/66 with 67 and don’t know that the 67 was a 1 year only body style. Thanks for the link and checking mine out 👍🏾👍
