I truly hope that Angelina continues to follow the same path with her songs, and that is, having her voice be front and center with minimal instruments accompanying in the background. With a very few exceptions, this is the case on nearly all of her songs, and to me, is something that should be done more often. I realize some singers need the instruments to cover a voice that isn't that pleasing, or they need auto tune to enhance their voices, but we all know this isn't the case with Angelina. I can't wait until she releases an album, and I hope they release it on vinyl. I would love to have it be the centerpiece of my collection.

I agree with everything you say. One could make the argument as well that for Angelina to reach a broad audience as possible, her album should also include tracks that are not so minimalistic in regards to instrumentation. I feel her voice still shines on tracks such as Above The Water (feat. Angelina's vision is to make the whole world happier and therefore a better place and I can think of no better role model for the younger audience. That vision needs IMHO a variety in song selection. That way her platform will be solid enough to really make a difference.

Hi PO! I have the same routine like you do. First, listening to a least one Angelina song per day and then checking out reactions to her many videos, particularly for this one. They are growing in numbers day by day and all of them, have pretty much the same feeling as you had. Being overwhelmed by the lyrics, the message, the delivery, the subtle b&w recording, piano and cello, but mainly Angelina's ability to capture your soul from the first few words. If you watch the few interviews Angelina has given throughout the years, even when she was an 8/9 year old girl, you can see what a humble, caring and kind heart she has and that's where she draws all these emotions she conveys in her performance. At least that's my take on the matter. Added to the loving family environment in which she grew up and was raised 💖

Not only does my daily routine include checking out AJ (reactions/news/releases) on KZbin (and other sources), but I also listen to her vast catalogue on my commute to, and during break times at work. Her voice brightens what is an otherwise, usually, mundane day... And brighten, it does. What I will state emphatically is that watching her perform the song (versus hearing just the audio) adds so much more. On my "bucket list", is to see Angelina live, but I'm unsure if I'm willing to be in public while experiencing that much emotion. P.S. Keep the great reactions coming

I really think it was because she was given more freedom of expression in its production. On 2 June 201 I did an analysis of the number of reactors who had featured this song and the number of views received by each Reactor. At about 3.00 pm. New Zealand time on that day, 182 Reactors had featured this song. The number of views for the lyric video was 1,414,111and for the live performance 243,299. Checking Angelina Official channel I see that the two versions have received over 1,000,000 views.

I read that when Angelina sang Millions Miles in the studio booth before the final cut,tears were running down her face while she was reading the lyrics,then afterwards she felt relieved. Interestingly,she wrote the song way before her grandpa passed away. It was just a song she chose out of the many she wrote to record,because she felt it would be appropriate for the time we're in. She didn't know it would have that much of an impact on her life.

With Angelina, it’s so many things that make her the best singer I’ve ever heard. She shares her own emotions so openly and honestly through the lyrics. Her voice is truly classic and timeless. Her connection with the listener is personal and immediate. And her musicality is now distinctly identifiable as Angelina. Her voice is like a wave, ebbing and flowing, but the crescendoes come where you’re not expecting them-and when you hear them, you also feel them affect you physically. Yes what a start for republic records! By the way, if you look very closely at this, at the transitions between shots, you can see that this was not all done in one take using multiple cameras at once like on a live tv show. In some cuts from one camera to another the positions of her hands change. So, the question is, is the singing we hear all in one take, with the editors using lip syncing to to match up the shots that are from different takes? Or is the singing from a combination of takes? I think the former; it is so seamless and I don’t think she’d feel comfortable calling it live if it’s a combination.. Either way, just stunning vocals and such emotion!

Not sure it is wise to look under the bed too hard. There are several instances of "live" non-audience performances of Angelina's where what we see is not always what we hear. I basically don't care. In Angelina's case the video often does add to the performance, unlike many other artists, but to me it is best just accepted, rather than being scrutinized.

When you have the possibility to make what you yourself seems is the ultimate version, it would be stupid not doing it. Many of the reactors are editing their reactions. - Not to mention movies where a scene may be shot again and again, classical music recordings, recorded TV shows etc... all to getting the optimal result - and nobody questions it! So why should we expect that Angelina's videos are produced in one take - like she is cheating if it is not the case? - When she obviously wants to deliver top qualiy? No, sit down, let the music flow and revel in the ultimate performances of her talent, and forget the sometimes necessary steps taken to reach these heights to the delight of the world. On the other hand: Are not these speculations just a proof of her greatness? - Who else would be "suspected" of not doing studio performances in one take - like she were so divine as never doing anything needing improvement? But of course. It is understandable. Her out-of-studio performances are reasons enough to believe she is capable of just that: singing flawlessly through every song she wants to do.

It’s just interesting to speculate about the process. And yes, we know she is stunningly good when it is fully live, so it wouldn’t surprise me at all to learn that she did do this all in one and only one take, and then had the camera people do some other run throughs just to make sure the visual was how she wanted.. “Mary’s Boy Child” is an awesome example of live, one-take perfection; I don’t see how she could have done it any better with a hundred takes!

As a fan, I am terribly upset with Republic Records, which is a branch of Universal Music Group. Universal is promoting 17 year old singer Olivia Rodrigo's Debut album called "DRIVERS LICENSE" She is being seen everywhere, while Republic is only showing Angelina's Debut single "MILLION MILES" on U Tube No entertainment magazines, no radio, no interviews, no C/D's or vinyl. Angelina needs more exposure UTube is not enough, AGT Champions 2020 Golden Buzzer not enough. Something has to be done if 2021 is going to be the year Angelina is introduced to the world as the world class singer she is!

Oh I think it’s about to go off any minute now. I can definitely see where you’re coming from, though. And on some level I’m right there with you. C’mon what’s the hold-up?! But on some level I actually enjoy this time right before everything takes off. Being a part of a family of sorts, from the beginning (although my journey started as late as August 2020). I almost feel as if I know the “inner circle” of fans (angels). And I’ve practically seen every song now and I’m starving for more. And then up pops some new find or a short clip and I can live on that for a long time. I guess all that will change once the big break comes. Don’t get me wrong, I want that (we need that)! However, I still think I might be looking back to these times with a feeling of nostalgia in my heart.

If it makes you feel any better, I have no idea who Olivia Rodrigo is. [wink] Seriously, though, I'm not so sure the lack of promotion isn't "part of the plan" at this point. I mean, she _does_ still have at least a couple more years of high school to get through (presumably). And in the shorter-term, she has the current school year to finish, which started around the time her signing with RR was announced. Maybe they (AJ and family) actually _don't want_ her to get "too big too quickly". Maybe that was actually part of the contract they negotiated. (Hey, it's possible… right? Look at how they resisted signing with anyone for so many years. They clearly have been playing "the long game" here…) We have no indication that what is happening now is _not_ what "AJ's camp" wants. So, I think it's a bit premature to start picking up the pitchforks. [wink] Let's just chill, and wait to see what happens this summer, when she has more "free time" to devote to "career development" (as ironic as that sounds) - not to mention a more hospitable environment in which to do it. As for physical media like CDs and vinyl, I don't think very many singles get that treatment nowadays. Let's see what happens with the album. Oh, and I have just learned that Olivia is a "Disney actress", so _of course_ her release (also a single) is getting more attention, and more of a "coprorate push". Angelina, et al., OTOH, _turned down_ Disney. Their situations could not be more different (by design).

If I had to choose what instrument Angelina represents, I would say the cello. It was an inspired choice for this song, it deepens emotions in me, just like she does Oh .. oh .. those two cries to the Gods and the Universe is GRIEF in musical form. I tried calling out like that and I need not say that i unfortunately did not sound like Angelina but I must say it's the closest I've felt to her .. it is a huge thing that happens inside you and i felt after doing it 3 times together that i felt healed. I don't know of what, but it was some sort of peace or clarity in my being. I recommend it. Angelina has not only extraordinary depth but also the courage that is needed to be that direct, that truthful, that profound and at the same time give us the gift of her being. Sigh .. Thank you, Angelina .. and thank you, Pontus .. I needed to hear this again.

Dear "PO Talks", you should check out the emotional reaction by MissMeganFriday to this version of Million Miles, I think she shares your emotions about this epic masterpiece of a song. Some reactors only react to the melody, the instruments, the voice inflections etc.etc. all the technical details, and overlook the most important. As in the Little Prince, the most important things cannot be seen, they are intervowen in our souls. I lost my mother in April this year, and I have been soothed by this song to understand that "we are never alone", my mother is still here present with me in my own soul, even if she can no longer speak to me. This song's for you wherever you are. And I can revisit the happy memories I had with my Mum when she was still among us. That is what this song is giving me. It's a gift for the world, I hope the world will treasure it the way it deserves to be treasured, like a famous Elvis song, or a classic Judy Garland song. I am in no rush, and I think Angelina is not either, she will let that flimsy super stardom come and go as it pleases, as long as she can sing to our souls.
