If you have old pc its 32 bits and with simple preinstalling the windows you can make 64 bits.
@cosminilie16023 жыл бұрын
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think most PC games are only available for the 64-bit version of windows. When I got some help building a PC many years ago, the person who helped me told me that (at that time) there were some games that only run on 64-bit, and I believe most of today's (AAA) games only run on 64-bit. I only notice the 32-bit version of games when I am looking at smaller titles/indie games, but even when they don't offer it, I never saw anyone complaining about it.
@finnshadow26683 жыл бұрын
You're probably fine only exporting to 64 bit. The last 32 bit computers came out in ~2010, and are not very common these days. Even Microsoft has dropped support for 32 bit versions of Windows 10. Plus, very few 32 bit computers will be powerful enough to run punch a bunch, so not supporting 32 bit computers should work fine.

Just a quick addition, 32bit computers can't have more than 4gb of ram. The bits is the amount of 1's and 0's that can be computed and it works as a sort of exponential in human numbers. I'd suggest reading en.wikipedia.org/wiki/64-bit_computing#64-bit_applications

Review On Punch A Bunch Demo: The game was fun and the punches with the leaning in were better than I expected. I was playing the game and I found the dragging of the camera is distorting and it throws off my aim for the punches that are already difficult to do. In a game like this, you want to be able to perform your punches well. The issue I am talking about is when your camera is not perfectly aligned with your character it feels weird to lean and especially throw out punches since the camera is being dragged by the character rather than instantly with. It feels like it was a similar issue as no split screenplay where the controls are reversed. I think you should either reduce the drag on the camera or make it instant. Does anyone else think this is a problem or is it just me? I hope this feedback is helpful.
@maticrecer83613 жыл бұрын
I think that if the game is so simole that you can do everything in the first 15min of playing it looses its fun very quick. For example in rocket league there are countless mechanics that you just have to learn by time to get better, from inverted controls, flying flicks... it just adds to a game to be more skill based.

- You can charge your fist to infinite, wouldn't be nice after max charge, if you don't use your punch in 2-3s you will lose the super punch charge - Moving forward / backward should lean or some more animation on the body, is looks rigid - BUG: Charge to super punch (righthand for ex.) don't release it, block (same hand) , release the punch, release the block , the glove still has the animation from super punch (disappears after next punch, but I don't know if the damage is normal / charged) - Even if I lean forward (low level) and i hit the opponent, an animation happens to opponent neck not at the body level where is the hit (maybe specific body part) - also a number - 77 - 54 for the damage value - Please watch the shadow of the dummy (*is that a p- ????*) Multilanguage support: We can help you with that if you make a repository that contains english labels (.xml, .xlf or .json or something similar). Very Nice Start. The Stickiness feels good and the way a properly timed punch looks and feels better is really nice. I found if you block with the left but punch with the right he would start to do some kind of head banging and his head would stick to dummy a bit but nothing major against a dummy. Another nice addition would be bendy ring ropes but give them the sticky feeling too so you would fell that you are stuck on the ropes. Defo a nice start to the game man. Keep it up :)

When you were playing with that first dummy and hitting it all over the place, it reminded me of a speed bag, which made me think that a gym with punching bags and dummies would be cool, maybe even a good tutorial thing, but idk, could just be too much work atm. I’m super stoked for the game though, it’s looking so good and promising. There is already quite a bit of depth to the mechanics and tbh I can definitely see this game being up there on par with big competitive games one day. Best of luck!

From a boxing perspective, the bug you were talking about around 3:10 is of course a scenario where you could get countered (if you leave your hand out after a punch), however 99.9% of countering opportunities are taken before the original punch lands. This makes throwing virtually any punches much more viable. Leaving the bug in makes counterpunching much easier and would discourage any jabs. Your game is really cool, and it has some serious potential if taken a bit further. Further dimensions of boxing are added through not making the characters "squared up", i.e making the characters lead foot (all right handers stand with the left in front) a bit in front of the original position you got here, the same goes for the right foot but a step back from the original position. This "diagonal" stance, gives balance from getting knocked down on your ass. This gives the separation between left hand and right hand punches. Punches from the left hand are easier to reach further with, because the left foot is further in front. They are also easier to "just throw out" (it is more unpredictable because it has to travel a shorter distance before contact) and with the range advantage over the right hand, it fills a purpose without any big power, because it sets up the punches coming after it i.e The Jab. Punches with the right hand become harder, because the whole body turns with the throw of the punch. In addition to this, the "right cross" (a straight punch with the right hand) Is more predictable also. I personally believe that just adding this gives a bit more complexity while keeping the game easy to understand. There is infinitely more possible boxing mechanics to be added, but i feel like that would remove a bit of the arcade charm and would make the game much more difficult. /an amateur boxer of 5 years

You should add a career mode where you can start small and go to championships. Their should be a way to train to get more strength or speed and make it where each time you upgrade certain things like strength and health you get bigger and slower but the more you upgrade agility and stamina you get thinner and faster.

Congratz on getting the demo done. I think your 'bug' is a great feature, boxing is strategic in that being offensive can be very detrimental because you have to stop defending to attack so it's a nice balance there. Consider it an attack anti-spammer. In fact, it'd be nice if you could control how long it takes to get back to a defend position, make it an attribute. Then you could adjust it.

"10 million billion" Wacky test values are a hoot, but I think this may be contributing to your 32-bit export issue. Try lowering the value for your dummy's Angular Motor > Target Orientation > Strength setting to something like 10,000,000 and export again. The value "10,000,000,000,000" you entered here is likely causing an out of memory exception since the max value for an unsigned 32-bit int is 4,294,967,295. Can't find documentation on whether this field is signed or not, meaning it can be positive or negative (+/-), but in that case the max range is split between -2,147,483,646 and +2,147,483,646, which would still be out of range for 10 trillion. Hope that helps :) Keep up the great work!

So I just tried it and I enjoyed it. I am a fan of Fight Night Champion because of it's mechanics, but compared to your game, Fight Night seems limited in movement. I bring this up because I noticed from your game, the player can move while shifting his body, a feature that Fight night doesn't have, which I think is cool. Also, a feature that I think is more realistic that you put in your game is that the player can block with one hand and attack with the other. To me, it makes sense that a fighter can block and attack simultaneously, especially in a boxing game. It is quite surprising that Fight Night doesnt have that mechanic. Besides it being unfinshed, I think you did really well. Can't wait to see the final version.

I can tell it's gonna be really fun to play with someone. The control scheme could make it feel unnatural to defend and fight back seamlessly. I dont see any way to really change that though. I think it'll just take time to get used to. I think you should be a little more generous with the stamina though(and slow down player movement when it's low). Great work so far. Keep up the good work!

Hello there pontypants, I was thinking if you could add a "jump" feature/button to the game. It would be so cool to go on someone and jump on him and hit him in the air.

First of all congrats for your Demo release, I was really looking forward to it! :) Just one thing when you hit the opponent, the particles look more like the Player gets damage than the opponent getting hit.

Just a small anition glitch when you start to charge your punch and then block with that same charged fist the effect of charging still plays (as long as you hold it down), and I'm not sure whether I love the blocking buttons. But that's just my thoughts, love the game and I have been following since the first game dev, this game is definitely going places.

The demo is awesome! Noticed that when you charge left punch the particle effect of the lines is appearing on the right hand.

I like the pause mechanic. Maybe make your character go limp if someone blocks and does a counterattack or something at the exact right time.

I tried out the demo.... I think the controls are good right now, however I believe there should be some tweaking. I am not quite sure what needs to be done but somethings don’t seem quite right. The charged swing punches are really satisfying, but definitely would need a tutorial to explain the system. Took me a few minutes to figure it out to get somewhat used to it. Even when I got used to it, it was to still hard to get those satisfying hits sometimes. Great job so far though. Looking forward to more updates and the release of the game. I really like your videos and I appreciate how much effort you put into the quality of your videos and your game. I have been subscribed for a couple of months now. Every time I see you have posted a new video I immediately click and get excited.

i was revisiting GameDevTv course and as soon i saw "I Released a DEMO for my Boxing Game" i dropped EVERYTHING i was doing hehehehe now about that bug 2:26 how about adding some kind of a time window to block, if it used correctly it will stun the opponent and keep their hand stuck like that for a short period of time to counter. like have a Boolean variable called something like TimelyBlocked in the attacker's BP that'll be set to true thro a notify in the punch anime montage, and a Boolean variable called something like TimedBlock in the blocker's BP that'll be set to true thro a notify in the block anime montage, and have a branch in the attacker's BP that gets fired after a small Delay on the Punch Keyboard Action Event to check if TimedBlock AND TimelyBlocked are true, if it is then hold the punch somehow to give a time window to counter, and then set the variables back to false with another notify in the block/punch anime montage , or something like that.

As other said - 32bits only is pretty obsolete these days. I mean there are bunch of 32bits apps but nowadays its not cause compatibility than ... idk prob just dont need that much ram. Recently Apple removed support for 32bits apps in their latests versions of system. I mean - doesnt matter, use 64 and dont care
