Thanks for this video. I had no idea how to style my wig, and I've pretty much never styled a wig before, but to me, this isn't intermediate. I was daunted by "I started by taking all the wefts out of this middle part." To me this sounded like "I started by destroying my wig." Your wig came out awesome, and I really hope I don't screw mine up.

Is there a reason for cutting the hair and gluing it back on rather than just putting it in a ponytail?

HYPH8 yeah, pulling long hair into a ponytail on a wig and making the pulled back part look smooth is insanely difficult. making the hairs shorter makes it much easier to pull it back and make it look smooth!

okay wait sorry if this is a dumb question but, did you buy the wig as one that can be put into a ponytail, or did you reconstruct it a bit to make it that way? and if so.... HOW!? (I'm sorry for all the questions I'm just a mystified and curious being)

M Rose it was just a regular wig that I seam ripped the wefts out of and then I sewed them back on in a spiral pattern so when it's pulled back it looks much smoother!

where did you buy the wefts for the ponytail from? can we reuse the stuff cut off?

Annexies I bought the wefts from the same website as the wig, wigisfashion.com. and yes I reuse the hair I cut off, that's most of what I glued to the "hair tye" :)

If you don’t mind me asking why do you put netting into the wig cap? Is it necessary?

Andreas L. Yes, adding the netting makes it so you can attach wefts onto any part of the wig at any angle, and when you pull the hair back it's going to pull around the netting somewhat evenly. If I were just using the elastic, it would be difficult to effectively get the wefts into the spiral pattern and it may not pull evenly into the ponytail. Sorry it's kind of hard to explain in text! Does that make sense?
