This only happens to me usually only on 150cc or mirror or (in the case of 8) 200cc from the very cheeky AI especially blue shells galore (unlocking both Funky Kong and his best bike was such a bitch still haven't done it legitimately because of the AI and luck when not getting star ranks) but to make it easier say fuck you to the wheel and plug the nunchuck in still can do tricks and steering is way more responsive using a GameCube like control stick feels so much better
