Great video, very helpful. It would have been nice to see exactly how much PL adhesive to use on each coping stone and where (on collar, on coping, both?). How far are you setting the bullnose over the edge? Are you grouting in between them? Finishing techniques?

I'd use a regular mortar mix to set the coping and sanded grout made for exterior usage instead. caulking is for a quick job and not a professional job

I have another big question and it has to do with decking. My old home has an old concrete deck around it that has many cracks that have been sealed with a bunch of different junk from the previous owners. Is there ever any way to go over the top of all decking without having to bust everything out? Thank you in advance!

If I’m pouring concrete copping, do I need anything between the bond beam and coping? I see some pools that have some sort of plastic trim in between???

Idk about the adhesive. It works but I like 1/4-1/2 mortar bed to set mine in

A preformed pool was already installed but it heaved overnight. There was about a foot of water in it to prevent just that!! How do you reseat the pool?

Is paver coping always placed on top of cement or can it be directly on top of the steel flat top of the pool frame?
@jamieseamans2796 Жыл бұрын
You can do that but I have seen the coping stones occasionally pop loose doing that way without pouring a concrete collar.

How is mortor going to cause efflorescence? That makes 0 sense.
@Eyesopen3653 жыл бұрын
Water is the universal solvent and will break down anything!! I deal with it with brick like sprinklers or water against a wall will pull minerals and lime from the mortar and cause it. You'll see it where people layed wet material and the mortar didn't cure properly and will certainly cause effervescence. Concentrated Acetic acid will remove it but will definitely be re occurring. Water and mortar don't exactly mix.
