a tip: slowly add the DE to the skimmer to prevent having to stir it up. Also if you have a way to shut off your far skimmer you get more suction to add the DE

Great job on the filter. The only two tips I would give is when your taking the lid off open the air relief at the top of the filter so the pressure doesn’t hold that lid tight and you can take it off much easier. Second is the filter grid assembly, that whole assembly comes out in one piece so I would lift that out and hose it off outside of the tank, that way you can easily hose off the inside of the tank and hose off the bottom of the filter grid assembly.

If you didnt know putting a piece of copper pipe in your skimmer will prevent algae from growing. Ive used it for yrs.

@Psycho Dad with the amount of water that came rushing out, Those pumps by the tank are they water proof. Like the small Black pump and the large White pump. Because I could see splashes of water go inside the Motor side with the holes that I would assume cools it down at High RPM.

As a former pool guy you did well I've done plenty of DE filters in the past. However do not put all your d e n all at once It can clog your skimmer lines. One scoop and wait for it to fully go down then you add your next scoop when the water's clear in your skimmer. And if you really want to keep the algae away. Get yourself a pool RX. And put it in your pump pod or your variable speed pod. Keep your chemicals balanced for summer Chlorine should be at 5 ppm Alkalinity should be right around 120 PH 7.4 If you have salt 3600 is key Phosphate should be below 500 And every 4 weeks do a DE Backwash You'll be golden. Also pollen is a pain. It's just a part of pool ownership. Beautiful pool btw. DE powder is basically crushed sea shells.

Why backwash the filter if u gonna open it and clean the grids smh lol... always open the relief valve top of the filter and remove the drain plug first then u can open the filter u can damage ur filter the way u opened it with the flat head.. never ever bang the filter like that 😂😂😂 u can crack the filter now if u don't mind paying$1500 for a new filter then bang it as much as u want lol
