Great video. I have been using a heat pump to heat my pool for 25 years. I recently replaced the main circuit board and some other parts after the circuit board was burnt out. The last item to replaced is the liquid to fill the temperature collection tube that sits inside the inlet water port. Can you tell me what type of liquid it is that sits in a small copper tube. There is wire that runs from this copper tube back to the circuit board. I assume it must be a non-flammable liquid. Thanks

Is there an engineer or physicist who can help me out with my thinking. Air conditioners, the HVAC style ones, use a similar principle. Would it be possible to use the cold water from the pool, in tandem with a heat pump, to make the air conditioner more efficient and absorb some of the heat from it before running into the heat pump? Seems strange that here in Canada, you have this obscene volume of water that stays at a relatively stable temperature compared to the surrounding environment... and in one hand you are spending energy to cool your house, but heat your pool? Am I way off here, could you somehow build a heat exchanger for your AC and make the AC run more efficiently all the while exchanging that heat as a pre-heater before it goes into a heat pump?

That's of course a great idea. Just that it is so hard to accomplish and service with a lot of parts (expensive heat exchangers) it would probably not pay for itself. Another cool thing to look into would be to have a water source heatpump that could utilize the pool as a heatsink and essentially acomplish what you want. Or like at our house in Czech Republic, you could have an air source heat pump together with solar collectors for heating domestic and pool water and enjoy the benefits at a lower cost:)

Yes it's possible, some people build theirs. I think there are issues with material degradation and chlorinated water. Seems like we could just put the outdoor unit inside de house and it'll heat the pool while freezing the house.

I will be shopping for a pool heater. Our pool also has a built in jacuzzi. Process of buying a home and the pool heater doesn’t work. The home has solar power. What systems available on the market are recommended. I’m gathering that the jacuzzi will be heated at higher temperatures. So what sort of system would I need?

Little stupid 🤭. Waste of cold air going into the atmosphere. Could've used that cold air to air condition the house instead. Or to dehumidify the house. 🙄. Or they could've made it more efficient and use the cold to run thermal electric plates off of and get as much power back as possible to make it More efficient.
