What should I know about pool lights?
Lighting your pool lets you swim at night with multicolored ambient light. LED pool lights allow you to change colors with a flip of a switch. In-pool lights must be installed during construction. Smaller LED lights cost $700-$900 installed, and fiber optics cost $1,300-$1,700. The only required maintenance is replacing the bulb.

I have ccei led pool lights that are Inductive. For winterization do you need to lower the water below socket to install winter cap? Or can you simply remove bulb and install cap while under water?

what can be done to keep bugs out of the water once the lights come on? within a minute of turning on the lights i have over a dozen critters in the water with us... we have a mosquito service and the yard is pest free otherwise

We just put in a new pool liner today. The light in the pool is very small and doesn’t emit much light at all. In order to install a new and bigger light, what does that entail and would the water need to be lowered to below the light? We just spent $790 for two truck loads of water...yikes...on top of the $4,400 to replace the liner. Also, are there any underwater solar type lights that can maybe be suctioned to the side of the pool perhaps and if so, would it be safe on the liner?

Just signed contract for the D28. We have decided on a light down at the deep end facing TL, and a Bubbler/LED in the middle of the TL. After watching this video i'm not sure if i should get a third. What is your recommendation to get the best effect?

What's the most economical choice to add lighting AFTER construction. I have an old rectangle pool with no in pool lighting. Just using flood lights on the house to light it up

Unfortunately, it depends on your definition of 'economical'. The bulk of the cost will be digging down and accessing the side wall of the pool to install the light. Hey guy. We are having our 33 X 54 above ground pool installed July 9th. I have seen that people have been using some kind of led rope light on the rim underneath the rail. I like this look but how and what is this light? Great video.

LED rope lights are a pretty common thing these days for decorative landscaping, etc. The light you see in this video is an underwater LED light by Pentair. It, along with the landscape lighting, are all set to a control panel that allows the homeowner to change the color and brightness of the lights.

Hello, we just had a pool built but unfortunately the LED lights were not installed before filling the pool. Is it possible to wire and install the lights after the pool is filled? From what we see there are holes on the pool wall for the lights. It seems it's not wired yet. I would appreciate your input.

Hi Vanesa Rosa! Our answer here is...maybe. It would be hard to say definitively without seeing at least a photo. If you already have a light niche (or fixture housing) in the wall of your pool then most likely a light can be installed.

I have 2 lights in our fiberglass inground Pool with many settings for color and such. The pool is 4 seasons old and one light has gone bad. They said almost 700$ to replace it. Is it worth the money for 4 seasons? 4/5 months of Pool use in the Midwest. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Can you recommend a brand of an LED Bulb? Also I heard that some bulbs you can change with a phone app...Can you elaborate on that also?

What's up Jason S! We use Pentair Glowbrite LED lights for all of our pool installations. We also use Pentair automation systems and YES you can upgrade to Pentair Screenlogic enabling you to change the color of your lights with your phone, cause "there's an app for that" 😎🌊 thanks for watching!

@@RiverPools I got an estimate from your website already but for a similar size/shape concrete pool that I've been getting estimates for (55-65k) your website said it would be between 75-90k. I was under the impression that fiberglass pools were cheaper than concrete pools.

Everything in the USA is an absolute ripoff. In my country LED pool lights with changeable colors sell for for 66-80 USD each. Paying 1400 USD for a friggin light! Are you guys out of your minds!

Hi Moh J! Glad to respond to this. What we're referring to here is the cost to have the light installed during construction. The cost, per light, includes much more than just the fixture...equipment, material, labor, etc. The same would be true if you were building a house and wanted to have a light in a particular location of the home...by the time you flip the switch on for the first time, you've incurred costs far beyond that of the actual fixture because of everything required to make the light work in that location.
