Yeah I'd like to know what other countries are participating.

@@Everything767-v8z A few federations mentioned pre-qualifiers happening later this year to qualify for next year’s qualifiers. My educated guess: Taiwan/Nicaragua/Spain/South Africa in one qualifier. Colombia/Brazil/China/ in the other with Curaçao/Philippines/Germany/France/New Zealand/Argentina in the other with the winner advancing to main qualifier

Brazil should play in Miami if they qualify

Off-topic and this place is nowhere near WBC level but you gotta do a Baseball in Jamaica video. Talk about Chili Davis, Devon White, Justin Masterson like only BI can.

I'm pretty satisfied with the competitive balance this time around. I'm especially interested in Pool A since I think Canada is the dark horse of this tournament if they get all their major league talent. Here are my predictions for the qualifier teams and where they'll be placed. Pool A: Colombia Pool B: Brazil Pool C: Taiwan Pool D: Curaçao+Aruba team

Im as surprised as you with US and Mexico in the same pool. I know when I drew it up, I figured theyd split them up with Mexico basically being Pool B's host. I had the US going up against Venezuela (a rematch of the 2023 quarterfinal). That was mostly based upon Venezuela finishing top in pool D vs. the US being the runner up in pool C. I figured The Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico would be in the same pool. They do love having the rivalries, so Venezuela vs. Dominican Republic makes sense. I figured one team would be swapped out, I just got the wrong team. I also am surprised they basically kept the Japanese pool pretty much the same as in 2023. I know I moved Australia and the Czech Republic over to Pool B and swapped Italy and Israel in their place, just to change things up a bit. I was right about putting Cuba in with Puerto Rico just because of the trade embargo, having Canada and Panama in the same pool (thatll be an interesting battle), and Japan and Korea together. I dont quite understand why people are calling the Japanese pool easy. Korea is more powerful than people think, they just got upset by the Australians last time, nothing more. Taiwan just got some hard luck as well. Japan is just on another level, nothing more. My suggestion to people who think Korea is a pushover: Have them in the same pool as Mexico or Puerto Rico and youll find out how good they are. They arent ranked 4th in WSBC rankings for nothing, they are just simply in the same pool as Japan. As a Canadian, Im glad we arent facing the US. We have faced the US every time in the WBC. Unless Colombia becomes the qualifying team, we have never played ANY of these teams in the WBC, so this gives us a new perspective and to see some team we have never seen before (and the other teams get to play a different team).

Fixing the pool so US & Mexico, Korea & Japan, always play is Mickey Mouse, the reason why the Cricket WC will never come close to the soccer one. Same matchups every time, I'd rather see US, Korea, Netherlands, Panama, just seed teams based on # of players in the top 2 baseball leagues, USA, DR, Japan, PR would probably be the seeded teams and then mix it up

I don’t like their pools. I don’t like multiple host nations ether i strongly don’t care about Flight logistics and spring training. Those are excuses. The WBC powers at be need to pick a singular host nation. It’s time to move the game of baseball forward in this matter. Didn’t Curaçao become their own team too? The Bahamas need to break away from Britain. And there should be more pools not just 4. Invite more teams in most sports related thing in quality over quantity but in the WBC’s case I think Quantity is better for growing the game. And each pool needs to be diverse with each continent represented in a group as much as poss. Example there should be a group of Venezuela, Canada, Italy and Taiwan. I prefer groups of 4 instead of 5. The 2030 WBC needs to adopt these ideas. I hate the multiple host city nonsense i understand it but it’s excuses and not a strong enough reason not to have a singular host city. I would have ether Canada or Australia host the 2030 WBC and then in 2034 I would have Puerto Rico or Columbia host it.

Bahamas is aiming to play in 2029 WBC qualifiers. They’ve finally got government funding and are gonna be able to travel and compete in all age categories to climb up the WBSC rankings. Once they get into the top 30 rankings, they should get an invite to compete in the qualifiers
