Very nice summary of my favorite book of all time. I return to it again and again. For those who are especially interested, I also recommend reading Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway Annual Letters, and watching/listening to the annual meetings on youtube (which I'm doing now.) Warren and Charlie are some of the best teachers ever.

Be consistently not stupid. So understated.
@bluegtturbo4 жыл бұрын
For the average investor (by definition most people) then the best course of action to 'Not being stupid' is to not try to beat the market. Invest in the Vanguard S&P 500 ETF or All world ETF. If 80 percent of so called experts fail to beat the market, why should the rest of us even try? Psychologically it's far easier to make regular contributions to an ETF than to try to pick individual stocks. As an index ETF investor I WELCOME falls in the market the same as I'd welcome lower food prices..
@TheSwedishInvestor4 жыл бұрын
I think there's much truth to that statement. Most people should invest regularly in a cheap index fund or follow a system like The Magic Formula. However, my hope is that most people watching this channel can be educated to a level where they don't have to be like most people :)

@@TheSwedishInvestor I mean you said you don't look for companies outside of Sweden. But market is global, isn't it better to analyze industries, rather than countries?
@TheSwedishInvestor5 жыл бұрын
@@XOPOIIIO It all comes down to what type of investing strategy you use. Relatively speaking, I have a greater advantage when it comes to the Swedish stocks as I can more easily absorb all the information about them. I know what resources to use etc. Many of them are acting in a global market though, just as you say, and when picking among such companies, international competitors must be studied too. So far, I haven't yet owned a company that wasn't founded in Sweden. While this may change in the future, I would never go into a market such as Asia or Southern America for example. Due to language barriers and a different culture, I'd be at an informational disadvantage.
