In the history of narrowboat building yours is the fastest, the engine has arrived and you have seen it, that can be a major hold up, if somebody asked me how long rule of thumb would a 58ft narrowboat take to build from a typical boat builder i would say 18 months. Aintree advised me on the haulage company to use they were the cheapest and wait for it,......right on time.

@@ericgoodall-w5z wow if it had taken that long we would have been right up sh@# creek! As it was we kept visiting and making a nuisance of ourselves, I’m sure they just wanted to see the back of us 😄

Hi Duncan, Hi Jo Did I hear that you will be on the LLangollen canal?? You will just fall in love with it. From all of the vlogs I have watched I find it to be the most beautiful and peaceful. I am so excited for all three of you. Definitely looking forward to the next edition. Mark Alberta, Canada

@@markrant1460 yes we will be on the Llangollen for the winter. There are a number of reasons for this one being that it very rarely freezes. We have walked quite a bit of it and we agree it is beautiful. Hope you are staying warm, it’s getting colder here 🥶 Stay safe Jo

Mr Practical here again... I was wondering about the insulation of the sidehatch doors, the video gives an impression they are solid metal sheet. Is there a hidden insulation layer in their construction or was a wooden liner fitted in the final pre launch rush?
@Narrowboat-photographyКүн бұрын
@@flibbertigibbet6324 We have glazed doors inside the metal hatches. We wanted to be able to open the hatches all year round and this seemed to be the best solution. There is no added insulation other than the gap between the two doors. I like practical people 😀
@flibbertigibbet6324Күн бұрын
@@Narrowboat-photography Ah so you can swing the outer metal doors open when there is a risk of showers and not worry about a wooden door liner fitted into the outer door getting damp and discolouring. Like it.
@Narrowboat-photographyКүн бұрын
@@flibbertigibbet6324 No sorry, we still have wood attached to the metal hatches plus a glazed door inside.

@@dalejones4184 Who is building your boat and is the 22nd oct when your first steel was laid?

@ Tim Tyler hull and fit out by Braidbar Boats, the Baseplate was laid 30th September and the hull completed on 22nd October, we were sent a photo two weeks ago, ballast is in with the sub floor over, and the spray foam insulation has been done, so it will be interesting to see her current status. Project expected to take 8 months.

@ in your mind you have a time frame and you think that the boat builder would follow that. In our experience there where weeks where nothing was done on our boat and we were thinking “why?” I have my fingers crossed that yours will be finished on time. Braidbar seem to do lovely boats so I’m sure you will be really happy. I hope to see it when it is complete
