So where I'm from poori is almost always served with masal (same stuff used in masal dosa but more watery) and once you've had your share of savoury poori comes my favourite part. It's when you get to eat it with hot milk and sugar. I'd at least gorge 15 to 20 pooris this way. Just the best.

Every time I see a fun Indian recipe, like a curry or this poori with potatoes there's always a comment following that it's for a celebration, or a special occasion or Diwali or whatever. Why? It's just bread and potatoes, or a chicken in sauce. Why can't it just be a regular weekday meal? It's not that fatty, it's just a light dinner, we're not talking roasted Turkey with gravy. I mean, if you eat butter chicken for Diwali what do you eat on a regular Tuesday?
