Without a doubt this Chili is AMAZING! I put together this quick and easy recipe knowing full well that it had to be an old school cowboy style chili with today's expectations. That means a lot of chunky meat with a ton of flavor and spice. I like chili to be thick and bold but not overwhelming when you eat it and I achieved that with this recipe. So check out my website for the exact ingredients and be sure to read my tips about making a milder version for those with a softer taste. Hey, I just made this and it is THEE BOMB! Pulsing your veggies like that makes for a really thick sauce. I had to keep adding water to mine to thin it out a little. No adobo chiles around, but I added hot Hatch green chiles to mine. Really good recipe--a keeper!

Just made this chili. Tastes great. I added Buffalo trace as it was close to the pot LOL. Had to purchase all the ingredients, not so much a poormans meal haha. But, with that said, it's cheap considering how many this pot of chili will feed!

@@PMGK I might but it's hard to pull me away from my chili recipe. I've won competitions with it. First off it's called chili for a reason. Put some hot chili peppers in it for God's sake. Second I don't use ground beef, I use stew meat. And another secret weapon of mine is at the end I melt in a can of refried beans. It just adds a thickness and creaminess you can't quite put your finger on. I do it in my bean soup too.

@@PMGK Also, I live in Cincinnati Ohio and Cincinnati style chili also contains cocoa so no I don't think it's weird. I eat lunch at Skyline Chili at least once a week. Me and my buddy already talked about your recipe. I think we might be giving it a whirl to see what it's all about. Just warning you I'm going to drop a couple ghosts in it. But that's just how I roll. Like I said they don't call it chili for nothing. Peace

That looked tempting. I noticed you did not drain and rinse the Beans. I much prefer soaked dried beans but as you I have tinned avaiable most of the time but I have always rinsed mine. I like my Chilli to have enough free runnyness to soak into the Rice that I am eating it over. Need to watch again for some quantities.
@PMGK4 жыл бұрын
Yep, for this recipe I do not strain the beans. Like all of the other ingredients, it plays a vital role in the perfection of this chili. If you soak your own beans, which is fine, you need to add a cup of broth. All of the exact ingredients are on my site and the link is in the video and in the description.

That bacon roxx! Just about a month ago for the first time I saw a version of that where I shop and it's even cheaper, it's half the price, so I was a little skeptical. But it's much better than the regular bacon haha! I'll bet it's a little drier meaning you don't pay extra for salt water making it even cheaper. The slices are as you said uneven but if I buy several packages and open them I can sort them according to what I need. Some look great and they can be stretched out and used for breakfast as is, some are fat and are great for melting in a pan for cooking (chili!!!), some are just crumble and you can chop them up and fry them crispy and so on. You can keep some in the fridge and some in the freezer. I'll never buy beautiful bacon again haha! :D

@@PMGK hehe, I had to google it and nope! It''s too far to the front of the pig over here. Pork seems to have no head haha so I guess it's sold to the food industry as sausage fodder! :) It's probably a shame? I've made braised ox cheek a few times and it takes a while but mmmmaaan, when it's eventually on the plate it's good food!!!

In Texas, you can buy frozen pig heads in the freezer section at walmart! I'm going to film a video about bacon and I'm going to introduce you to Jowl. I think you'll be surprised how good it is. Also, check out my Street Tacos video. I use cocheta de res which is beef cheek meat and it makes the BEST tacos.

i had made chili a good 5 or 6 times, and it always had a taste that was just..off. it only tasted good once it was served (with diced onion, shredded cheese, sour cream and crumbled crackers). last week i decided to add mild italian sausage to the ground beef (which i'd had as a combo for a meatball sandwich) to see how it would turn out and...that was the missing ingredient. cannot emphasize how much of a difference that that made. i will never make it without the sausage again.
@PMGK3 жыл бұрын
That's why I add sausage to my chili. All of the other spices, in Italian Sausage, are there in the added taco seasoning. Best chili I've ever made.😊
