My mother made my father beef stroganoff basically every year for his birthday that I can remember. I decided to take a crack at stroganoff with your recipe. He leaned over and whispered, “don’t tell your mother, this is the best stroganoff I’ve ever had “

I always make my husband his favorite - lasagna - for his birthday, along with homemade garlic French bread, salad, veggies from our garden and German chocolate cake or Black Forest cake, depending on what mood he's in. Our youngest daughter's favorite dinner is Kluski (ours is made with homemade hot and spicy sausage, cabbage and kluski noodles, sp&g), and now she makes it for her husband's birthday too, since it is his favorite meal ever now. Our oldest daughter's tastes changed every year, so it was something different every year. Always dark chocolate cake with ganache for dessert.

That's awesome! It's great when kids get excited about being in the kitchen with you. I taught my kids how to cook at a very early age, and taught them how to make their own butter and breads, desserts, etc. When they got to about 5-6, they had a lemonade stand with cookies they helped make (they did all the mixing and rolling, and I did the baking for obvious reasons). My youngest is now an awesome stepmother and last night told me that her daughter named her favorite dish I used to make for them. Basically, it's macaroni and cheese, chili beans, ground beef, corn and rotel tomatoes. The name she came up with - "Macaroni Mayhem"! I love it!

Chef, I have been making my dad's Onion Soup recipe for 40 years but found you and your recipe, yesterday, prepared it tonight, and it is the BEST I'VE EVER TASTED! Wish I'd found you 40 years ago ( but of course, you hadn't even been born then, non? 😉 ) Onto your Beef Strogonoff! Much love and many thanks to you, Chef Jean-Pierre!

My hubby is working out of state (Alaska crab fisherman) and I keep telling him about my new favorite Chef & what I'm preparing with my 'new friends.' He's like, "Who is this Chef and when can I meet him?" 🙂

The comments are almost as good as the chef himself! People know the difference between ordinary and extraordinary. For me, extraordinary is still not strong enough to describe Chef John-Pierre!!!

"You really need to measure this carefully..."😂 You are an artist in the kitchen and a great entertainer. It is wonderful to watch you in your profession and I learn a lot as well. But it is relaxing and you make me smile, that's now most important for me. I do elderly care on Corona emergency 12h shifts for now. You gave me my smile back, thanks for that.

La différence avec les nombreux autres "chefs" est que tu donnes vraiment envie de faire la cuisine, qui devient plaisir et non corvée !

Love your personality, and the way you communicate chef! You speak and teach from experience, and present it in such a way that I just want to soak up all your advice!! Thank you for the video! My daughter is here watching as well, and loves hearing you say ONYO.
