I think it's cool for younger up and coming drummers to learn timing, licks and flow from the side line. BUUUUUUT....I can't lie I agree to an extent. It can be a bit much at times IMO.

An extra snare is annoying, it clashes. Just get bongos or something if they need to play percussion

I would get aggravated with the extra snare playing people on the sidelines!!!! Just making a lot of noise and not in sync!! It’s only one drummer with one drumset let him have it!!!
