@michaelpalmer5351
@michaelpalmer5351 3 жыл бұрын
@@rolandschmitt3692 I think it's more along the lines of "the grass is always greener on the other side." There's a Pop Punk hatred of suburbia and how it's so "boring" and holding them back etc. but really the ultimate deliverance from problems of feeling closed in/restricted/unappreciated can only be found inside the individual person. Satisfaction and acceptance can't really be found anywhere unless you have it in yourself first. But the Pop Punk feelings are still genuine - I just think they're a bit misguided but heck, most people on planet Earth are misguided in one way or another. Everyone's searching for the answer.

One of my exes from high school who listened to these kinds of bands always talked about us leaving our town to live in like New York or something. Lol now I know where she got the idea from. Edit: I moved out, but she’s still there.

Yeah pop punk kids always talk big but eventually they'll settle down in their hometown and become suburban "cool" parents, that are actually just boring people who think they're super edgy and still play in a local band at age 40 that plays in front of 15 kids

I too held the idea of leaving the shit town I grew up in as a teen from 2013-19 in the farmlands of eastern Australia, because at that age everyone just wants to be an adult already. But by the time you’re in your early/mid 20s you wish you were a teenager again. Pop punk makes me feel like I’m in the 2000s again and I’m a teenager as well. I don’t know what I would do without pop punk.

Patrick Stump in FoB vs solo giving conflicted accounts. One you hand: you were the last good thing about this part of town. Then you had: this city is my city and I love it and I love it I was born and raised here I got it made here and if I had my way I'm going to stay here for life.
