I just saw Pup live in my hometown with Sum 41. Good performances from both.

Awesome! I saw them awhile back with TFB, and then again with MoBo. They always put on a good show!

I'm not a punk fan, but plenty to learn from this channel.

Wow finally! Thx a lot! This has been in my head for a long time, but I couldn't really find a way to formulate the question about it. I didn't know what it is called.. Now I know

Awesome content as usual! Could you do a breakdown of how NOFX makes their chord progressions so interesting? They seem to avoid the usual I-V-vi-IV (like Dammit by Blink-182) and often use unexpected chords, minor chords, or jazzy 7ths, almost like the chords are following the vocal line. Any insight into how they approach this?

It’s a lot of dissonant stuff mixed with your typical 5ths and whatnot. Minor and major 6ths are also quite common. They use a lot of chromaticism too - where you ascend or descend one half-step at a time. "I've Got One Jealous Again, Again" is a good example of that sound.

Clickbait thumbnail. Everyone puts these stupid arrows pointing to the fretboard claiming that they’ve got this one trick that will make you a god tier player

Do you legit spend all your time pasting the same tired ass comment on every video? Maybe if you took that time and practised Instead, you'd finally become a guitar God just like I promised 😎

@@SugarpillProdmy favorite part is that the thumbnail does not claim to make someone a rock god with one simple trick, as they claim. But rather says “better power chords”

To be a punk guitar god you need to think outside the fkn box and come out with sh!t ton of other ways to play power chords besides using the standard root note and a fifth. The less you use standard power chords the funner it gets. Don't forget to throw a breakdown somewhere to make it easycore.
