There is so much awesomeness going on in this live performance. The interplay and timing between the instruments is so tight and clever. Those bass runs and fills throughout are incredible and the guitarist is doing some really nice work mixing between heavy chugging at the low end of the neck, melodic rhythm runs and almost jazz like chords further up the neck. The drummer absolutely kills it on every Jinjer song but what makes him even more special is that he is so creative on such a small kit. And then we get to the singer. She's skips out on to the stage and dances round it like a school girl and even drops a curtsy in when she climbs up on to her box at the beginning all while crushing the crowd into submission with her vocals. There's a point in that really heavy section where she smiles momentarily to the crowd during her head banging and it's like she's surveying her troops and saying "Oh yeah, that's my dogs".

The live performance at Resurrection Fest cranks the ending up to 11 though. I'd recommend watching the official video then go to their 40-minute Resurrection Fest full set and watch the end of I Speak Astronomy from th 19 minute mark which is the false ending in that performance. props for being a pop singer and still open to genres like metal. It has its reasons to be hated, due to elitists and less tolerant community, but it has lots of hidden gems. Also about going from that lows to her cleaning (high) vocals, they don't exclude each other, her screams are fry(both high and lows) so it's just whitenoise made by air pushed from the diaphragm with the vocal folds closed, which doesn't affect the vocal cords at all, that's why she can do the cleans so well and also switch between those two

@@treycalhoun7284 Teacher Teacher is a rollercoaster compared to this song. This one is a good showing of her fry screams and growling ability (which she has an impressive range in in itself), Teacher Teacher she does it all, in various ways, switching styles, growls, screams and all in the same line several times sometimes. And the band is awesome, as always. As for the crowds, in the past few years they have gotten on larger and larger stages, still touring almost every day with a week here and there for travel or relaxation (or recording new songs). They play any venue that will have them, some small ones, some huge ones. Last week they played at Wacken in Germany. One of the largest festivals in the world (they were followed by Anthrax, Within Temptation, etc). With all the KZbin hype for Jinjer, they seem to have finally broken through to the big leagues. 2016-2018 they were still often opening for other far lesser but better known metal bands. Now they are playing huge festivals and getting a crapton of love and recognition.

Well, she is actually not using her voice as it is while screaming, so switching is not that hard as you probably think it is. I think her main type of screaming is fry scream (since she can scream for a loooong period of time). The thing is, fry screams are usually pretty higher than that, even if you try to make it as low as possible. I think her anatomy would explain those lows she performs as if they were false chord screaming.

The studies that have been done actually found that metal and classical have the most similarities, even to the point of the effect they have on your brain (seen using a fMRI scanner) and on your driving (both made you drive faster but more precise-do not try to replicate this it was done in a test track). Even to the point that a lot of metalheads enjoy classical music (e.g you mentioning your love of a good orchestra) and Apocalyptica are a perfect example of the crossover of the two worlds. They are also both very "experimental" types of music. Although yes in theory classical has it's rules but in actuality classical has some of the most experimental approaches to music that you will find and of course metal does the same but from a different view point. Hope you can check out Apocalyptica at some point they have instrumental songs and then some tracks with guest singers on them too. Another great video, have a good day mate
