Great tutorial, Duncan! I will try to create a slider effect in something! I have used some of your techniques to make a custom journal for a swap and I enjoyed the way the items turned out. I made a pop up gingerbread house! I wonder if you could do a pop up sphere that spins. I am trying to work out how to get a spinning globe effect, but I don't get how they engineer the spinning with the rubber bands. If you've done it before and can upload a video - that would be awesome.

There is a sphere that almost spins in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by Robert Sabuda - it's a difficult mechanism - I may explain it in a future tutorial.

To make it all work from one strip we will join all of the strips with a piece right? Or is there a way in which only one strip is present and the rest is done by hubs and pivots?
@thepop-upchannel49192 ай бұрын
In the example shown in the video - the pull-strip moves one small vertical piece which is hidden behind the v-Fold - the arm/head piece is connected to the vertical moving piece by a hub - the body of the figure is connected to the arm piece by another hub - the other end of the body is connected to the V-Fold by another hub.

The pop-ups I show are from lots of different books - I show the books they're in in the tutorials. The names of the books are listed at the end of each tutorial.

What glue do you use?
@thepop-upchannel49194 күн бұрын
I use UHU, I prefer solvent based glues as they dry more quickly than water based ones. But really, any glue will work. (See Tutorial 1).
