As with everyone else here, I am grateful for your efforts. Thank you for crediting your sources where possible, and leaving things as they are when your estimations are out; the combination of your humility and skill is what makes this channel so unique. Thank you

Is there anywhere we can find templates for the nets of the designs? I couldn't really see the measurements to create one myself for my students. Thanks in advance!
@thepop-upchannel49192 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that it's not clear. There are no templates. You can see the whole shape at 2.03 and 3.33 - I think the numbers for the various dimensions all appear quite clear at 2.11, 2.52, and 3.04 - for the numbers referring to the gluing order it's probably just best to follow the tutorial. Hope this helps.

I agree that this is quite intriguing. I love that it came from "The Little Prince" book (the second-most published book in the world, supposedly just behind the Bible, in over 300 languages). I can't wait to experiment making it!

Thank you, mr. Birmingham, for yet another inspiring tutorial. I know how I'll spend my sunday! I really hope to find out why that distance from the spine should be 3 cm. Does anybody already know why?
@thepop-upchannel49193 жыл бұрын
After filming the video I realised - The distance from the spine is 3 cm because the width of the box is 6 cm. To fold flat the piece pushing the base of the box has to move 6 - 3 on the left of the spine and 3 more on the right of the spine.

"babadook"??? Not sure what you're referring to.

@@thepop-upchannel4919 the babadook is a horror movie featuring a haunted pop up book, it got so popular that they released a physical pop up book for fans. Thank you for the link. - Good to hear that you've found the channel useful. - As for why the spines of the two books look the same - I'm sorry to say I don't know - I really know very little about book binding. I'd always just assumed that once you've got all the pages of the book gathered into a solid "block" you could then add whatever sort of cover and spine you wanted.
