You cannot beat a good fishing challenge. So Graeme tried a fishing battle between a regular Pop Up and a Chummer Float to see which method was best on the day.It took him a while to find out what was going on with the baits, nut then he loaded up in an epic 4-hour session.

Haha mate , I love the dude and of course I know he holds the records and all that . He is a top sea fisherman, you can see that from the many amazing sea fishing videos he has made. I love this dude , I fall to sleep watching his vids but as a course angler he is not brilliant , but he doesn’t need to be. That’s part of his charm. If however , he and I were to go course or fly fishing I guaranty I beat him in a match. For example he wouldn’t have a clue how to create a semi-stiff hinge rig with a neutrally buoyant wafter bait. But equally, put me in a boat out at sea and I would be thrashed . Also I have a HND in fisheries and have worked at some top course fisheries As well as owning my own small lake , so I highly highly doubt the dude would know more then me about fisheries on an academic level .and as that is the only level that can be truly measured, I would say your wrong and dumb.! Plus as I made this comment about a course fishing video , And his skill is as a sea angler, You show that you have actually no clue about what you are talking about as you are basically assuming that the two very different forms of fishing are in fact the same. But are in fact worlds apart . It is clear to see to anyone that knows about course fishing that he is not great ! You know jack shit , and you are fucking dumb !!

Yet another fantastic video chaps! I absolutely love your videos and I was wondering if you could give me some advice because one of my favourite lakes to go float fishing on has an abundance of carp, however when I catch my first fish of the session the commotion caused when playing the fish seems to spook the other fish in the area and I really struggle to catch many more fish during the session! (Even moving swims doesn't seem to help)!

Really enjoying this channel and the wide variety of fishing, most species I can think of seem to covered in one video or another. But when I grew up and were fishing a lot in a small lake by my grandmothers summer house there was one fish in particular that we caught a lot, there were pike, perch, the odd trout or grayling but we did catch a lot of lavaret. Always in the 0,5-2 kg range and we always caught them on small spinners. It's a fun fish to catch and great fish to eat, but I've never really seen it in fishing videos on youtube at all. Do you you ever catch it? Is it even native to Britain? Or does it have some weird English common name I don't know maybe, and I've just missed it? :P
@as400techman
@as400techman 5 жыл бұрын
Lavaret is a white fish and we have no white fish in England, they are restricted to Wales, Scotland and Ireland in the British Isles where they are known as Pollen, Powan and Gwyniad.

i like the conker method abit of cork sticks about 6/8 mm (what they put into the boilies to make them float) with onto a middy lasso 8 pound hooklink wack some paste on around it and around the hook and the stick, the paste i make lasts for about 20 mins and sticks like ****to a blanket but soft enought to hook best thing is with paste method you make some put some around the stick then dip it into some of the dry mix and shove it into a pva bag

iv started using the method feeder lately and its getting me more fish than any other method i have tried. i havent got into banding pellets yet but iv been doing alright on the corn and mircro pellets. i always look at the bands and larger pellets but i never know what to get,(i get my tackle mostly from a pet shop as my local tackle and bait shop are arseholes) any advice? also are pellet banders 100% necessary? i tie my own hair rigs with anything i can find lol dont use bait stops
@austincurson1822
@austincurson1822 7 жыл бұрын
BUSHCRAPPING I just buy my rigs tied because I don't have the patience to make my own. Also if you want to try something just go down to a shop called boys and they should have a fishing section and just buy a bag of pellets from there and just use them as hookbaits on a pellet band and you will catch fish. If you want to catch fish near the end of your session put a small handful of groundbait in a ball down the edge and wait like 10mins then lower your method feeders on top and hold on to the rod and have a lose drag because when you book up to a carp they would pull the rod in if you leave it alone.
@carl6936

I've been on the method for about 2 years now, it's my go to "method" for high stock lakes and quick bites. 6mm-8mm pellets, 4" hooklengths. Can't beat it.

Graham, don't you find it incredible that you can catch fish with such simple setups. Where these Korda people and the like will try to sell you camouflaged line, stiff rigs, special boilies, special dips, special reels, special rods, say that line must be sunk and that you need these special critically balanced complex hair rigs and chod rigs etc.

The hook in your trousers past the barb? I thought Watmore was barbless?
@TAFishing
@TAFishing 7 жыл бұрын
Ran out of barbless so did the best I could and crushed the barb .Obviously left a tag on that one. I use barbless pretty much everywhere now so get through a few hooks which is why I ran out. Although there is a school of thought that don't want barbless as they say it moves around too much and damages the fish more,whereas barbed sits in one place. Seems to be going full circle.First cheese is good for you..then its not. Red wine can be good for you,but then someone says it isn't...we can't seem to win in this life.
