Schultz is exactly right. The whole point to deter gay priests from entering the priesthood is to decrease the presence of abuse, in addition to maintaining the masculine virtues of a father as a priest takes up that role as well in the church and to his parishioners.

I think that a lot of people are too quick to label someone as homophobic or transphobic. For example, I disagree when anyone says trans women are women. But that doesn't mean I hate or fear trans people. As far as gay's, lesbian's, and bisexual people are concerned. I honestly don't give a f**k, as long as they don't try push any LGBTQ sh*t on me. Because I think that people have the right to love who they love. Even though I disagree with most of the woke nonsense they push. Otherwise the only issue I have is with non binary and trans people. When it comes to gender/sex, and what is or is not gay. For example, I think if a man has sex with a trans woman. He's gay or bisexual. And if a woman has sex with a trans man. She's a lesbian or bisexual. But the fact I think that doesn't make me transphobic and homophobic. It's just my opinion and my opinion only. So if anyone disagree's with me. That is your choice, but don't label me something I'm not. Just because my opinion is different than yours. Because I don't hate anyone unless they give me a reason to.

Being gay isn’t a ‘lifestyle.’ Gay people come from all walks of life with different personalities and different ways of living (some gay couples adopt kids, some gay couples never want kids , some gay people like to party, some are introverted etc.) so saying it’s a lifestyle rather than just a natural part of human sexuality is wrong. A lifestyle is like being vegan, a swinger, or even someone that heavily exercises a lot. These are lifestyles you can choose to be apart of because you feel it can be healthier but it’s not essential or a core part of your being….Just like there are many straight people but they don’t all live the same way regardless that they are straight. Nobody says “straight lifestyle.” Also you cannot disagree with somebody being gay , it’s just homophobia no matter how nice you try to be about it. It’s like saying “I disagree with the fact that you’re Asian or _____insert any other race.” As James Baldwin once said “we can disagree and still love eachother….unless your disagreement is rooted in my oppression and denial of humanity and right to exist.”
