I was fortunate and blessed to be at the Vatican during the 1975 Holy Year and received a general blessing by Pope Paul VI in Vatican Square before walking into St. Peter's Basilica through the Holy Door. I also attended the Canonization of Elizabeth Seton's in an outdoor mass in September of that Holy Year. I'm still blessed by the memory of my visit to Rome. Peace of Christ be with you. ✝️

He never carried a crosier, he carried the papal staff or papal ferula, which was actually used by several popes, including Pius IX, Leo XIII, John XXIII etc.
