So I read the description and noticed the ask for tips. I am not the best at making digital art for pure lack of skill but I know just about all the tips... for apps anything can work, but adobe apps (such as photoshop and lightroom) work best with apple but can be used on other brands, firealpaca is free and works great, for windows try to get something like paint tool SAI if you can afford it. Drawing with a tablet is best, but you can use other extensions like a mouse or joystick if you can't afford a tablet. I use a bamboo tablet, but OSU tablets should work in a pinch, plus you can use them for gaming when you take breaks. Digital art is a different skill than traditional and so don't be discouraged if you need to practice more with digital to get as good as you are with traditional. If you have troubles with anatomy, you can trace a pose for practice, but don't upload traced art and claim it as your own! If you do upload something traced or using a base, credit the original artist/base artist. If tracing isn't helping, you should advance to pulling up a reference beside your drawing and try to replicate without tracing. That is a tip for practice not for finished pieces to upload. When shading, use a slightly cooler hue for the shadows and a slightly warmer hue for the light. There are many different techniques to try, one of the most commonly used in digital art being cell shading, I would suggest giving them all a try before picking a favorite. Experiment with styles and don't feel obligated to stick with one style for every piece, some pieces require different styles, but it is also good to have a favorite one to do most often. Don't be too upset if it doesn't seem perfect at first, just try to fix your mistakes or do better next time. Never stop improving. I wish you the best of luck.
