Wow - I didn't think anything could be worse than the unfinished Apple II homebrew port of this game - but the Odyssey 2 version might have done it!! Amazing. 😝

I had the TI-994A version and was thankful it was really decent for the time.

Yeah I had a Ti994a also. Had Donkey Kong, Burgertime, and Congo Bongo. Not sure why I didn’t have this game or just didn’t know it was available. It’s the better looking port at the time.

There is also a 5200 home brew - several versions where they kept refining the graphics and did an awesome job.

Really regret not having the Texas Instruments 99/4 version back in the day. Did not know about it until years later but it’s a fine port. I was fascinated by the arcade game as a 7 year old who also loved Donkey Kong. Now nearing 50. Have my own custom arcade setup with twin sticks and trackball. Around 1000 classic games. 4 ports of Popeye and over half a dozen ports of Donkey Kong.

I played a bootleg romhack of the NES version on a famiclone handheld. It removes the copyrighted elements and replaces the characters with generic cartoon animals.

I think the nes is the best and colecovison and atari 5200 cause they have the sounds and graphics down well and also cause I own them hehe.
