Excellent show as usual . However , one sentence stands out . I never thought I would hear the words " Gary Lewis and the Playboys are important " . Over the years , I've thought of them as many things , important isn't one of them . I shared the stage with them years ago at a Nudist Colony in Michigan , when they appeared with Mitch Ryder as " The Rock & Roll Army " . My band No Busfare Johnson & the Bustones opened the show . I now go as Durango . Life is no doubt filled with tantalizing mysteries .

Interesting idea. I knew about half of them but the rest were new to me. I'm glad you included David Crosby because a lot of people think he was the son/nephew of Bing Crosby. Also that of all of these, Gary Lewis & the Playboys were a significant act from early '64 to mid '67. Noel Harrison (A Young Girl) was the son of Rex Harrison but was known more for his role in the TV show The Girl From U.N.C.L.E. than singing, though he did sing The Windmills of Your Mind in the movie soundtrack.

Not to forget Mickey Dolenz of The Monkees. His father, George Dolenz, had been a Hollywood actor since the 1940's, even briefly as a leading man in the RKO studio. Among many other roles he was the star of the TV show The Count of Monte Cristo. Mickey's mum, Janelle Johnson, had also been an actress in the 1940's, mostly in supporting roles. As an addendum to Thomas Edison and the movie industry uprooting to Hollywood, the move was also because Edison would regularly send out goon squads to film locations of anyone not having paid him what he felt was his due. These thugs would destroy any and all film equipment to stop rivals who refused to pay. Kind of a semi-legal protection racket. The early movie studios would relocate to Hollywood as much for the better weather but also to be as far away from the Edison monster.
