"Popple Battle" Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga Remix

Welcome to the first remix of 2017, hope you were able to find it okay with the new thumbnail design! My buddy Ryan and I have been playing through Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga when I realized despite the series having great music, I haven't remixed a single tune. Our buddy Popple is here to change that with this new remix, his battle theme, which is also known as "Popple and Rookie"! Hope you guys enjoy the remix as well as the new layout!! In my opinion, it's pretty difficult to find good remixes of Popple's battle theme (likely because the original is already so good, especially for the GBA), but this… Simply put, this one blows them all out of the water. This is absolutely the most creative and original remix of this theme I've ever heard by a _looooong_ shot! That noir intro and outro are an automatic "YES" in my book, and the little interludes of different songs are pretty nice, too! Bravo! Bravo, I say! I'll be liking this, see? (Before anyone says anything about whether or not I recognize the other music in here, I have already read the comments, and I will readily admit that I have never played _Undertale_, it has probably been just a little bit under an actual decade since I've played _Super Paper Mario_, and I _did_ know the Hammer Bro theme sounded familiar but I couldn't quite place it. Sorry. 😕)

omg i absolutely love how you jazzed up the entire theme at the beginning, strange how the exact same combination of notes can sound so different with touches here and there (see?)... made it sound really pensive and dreamily nostalgic, really encapsulated the feeling of childhood wonder i have when i think back to the superstar saga universe. Not sure what year exactly I played it, but was def some time between 2003 and 2006... I was shopping with my dad and saw it in the video game section, i'd never heard of it before, i just picked up a box and convinced him to buy it, it just looked like something i would definitely love. Long before I'd read any literature, superstar saga gave me the feeling of immersive adventure i would later rediscover in classic novels in later life (i remember being amazed at just how LONG the story was for a video game). I owe a lot to this game, what a work of art!

Yeah yeah I'm 3 years late but this has to be in my top 10 favorite remixes of yours. I already love Popple's battle motif in and on itself, but you made it so much better. I love in this one especially all the other motifs you threw in from other songs. The only thing this is missing is a motif from Dead Bird Studio as I can see the smooth transition from Popple's theme to it, even though AHiT didn't release until October of 2017. Still, that isn't your fault. My favorite part has to be the part at the end from SMB3. I just love how pumped up it feels.

I love Undertale's ost as much as the next guy (or for that matter pacman ???) but its def weird coming for some good old Mario rpg music and getting like some kind of medley with music from tons of different games. I mean heck I was doing a little cover of bonetrousel myself the other day (nothing i'd upload, just testing out instruments), but I gotta agree with the people who said it kinda ruined things for themselves.
