Solid resin geode flower technique coasters with a red poppy design. No flowers were used! Not my favorite set, but I wanted try flowers without using white. Still pretty though.

Hi, only just found you and think your work is amazing!! One think that is hilarious though is that I every now and then I go to wipe a speck off my screen then you pick a bit of glitter out of the mould! 😂

OMG it's constantly everywhere! Backfist Customs Glitter sent me a glitter vacuum. I meed to remember to use it! 😄

I need help. I decided to use a scale to make my coasters. I thought would be more accurate. Well never noticed but the scale doesn’t give accurate weight results. Started noticing a difference in the amounts in my resin bottles were uneven. My coasters are bendable. Is there anyway I can salvage them?

Check the directions on your bottle. Mixing 1 to 1 by weight is different than mixing 1 to 1 by volume. You can salvage them by adding another layer of clear on top. Just be sure it's not too thin or it will crack if you bend them.

I made the same mistake! Only with the brand I was using, it didn’t cure completely so ended up with a sticky mess that couldn’t be salvaged for a set of coasters as well as some tumblers. The first few times it was fine due to small amounts so the ratio wasn’t off too bad, but the large batches messed up the ratio. That’s where it gets you! Now I have the mixing instructions to where I can see them so I know if it’s by volume or weight or if it doesn’t matter

Up to 120°. Good for hot coffee mugs, but not for a hot plate or trivet.

WOW FIRST! :) Beautiful as always. More translucent than I’d prefer. I’d been thinking the first attempt of your flower ideas I’d try would be poppies. Waiting on Red Castin Craft to arrive in fact. It may be a while, but I’ll let you know how their pigment works for getting a more solid red. I’m also going to have to make my own geode molds because the ones like yours (more round and individual, not connected) aren’t currently available. But I love all the ideas you’re coming up with! Be well and resin on!

Thank you! These are not my favorites either... .way too translucent. If I could do it over I would use a solid red, not transparent pigment. That's the fun of experimenting though! And people.need to see that I screw up too. It happens. 🙂

I used ArtResin for coasters n they stayed soft n pliable, cures hard for you?

Tina Tait cures hard for me.only thing, I made my coasters making my own silicone molds. The resin touching the mold, stayed wet for about 3 before it cured.

Can I add mica ?? What is the alternate name of pigment paste

Yes, you can add mica! Pigment comes in powder, paste or liquid. No other names that I know of.

@@abc16232 check out my videos Dahlia, Midnight Sanddollar, and Cactus Flower. I used mica powders for all of those. The first two have black alcohol ink background. The cactus flower is just clear resin in the background.
