I think this Smiling Critter sheep with skull keychain is an interpretation of the prototype making a reference to “wolf in sheep's clothing”. This would explain why it kills that Dog Day when there are plenty of other dead toys, it kills for pleasure, not necessity and the Prototype is the only one that doesn't need to eat. killing the lambs but not eating them while pretending to be one of them and to want the best for them only for his own benefit.🤔🤔🤔 Edit: Although the identity of this Nightmare Critter has been revealed and it has no direct connection with the Prototype, it is still viable for me that this scene represents the prototype but using Ba Ba Chops. I have my own theory for them. Now I believe that the Playtime Co wasn’t just marketing and making toys for kids but they probably wanted to try something new and market towards tweens/teenagers with this new Nightmare Critters. At first, I had believed that these nightmare critters were like a Halloween special type of toys similar to Monster High, Nightmare Before Christmas, BeetleJuice but then I realized that if there’s monsters are going to be the new enemies of Chapter 4 then there’s a reason why they are kept hidden underground/discontinued. I won’t be surprised if had a dark colored rainbow theme for the Nightmare Critters where they would focus on the complexed problems and emotions that teenagers have to go through like Depression,Anxiety, Puberty, Desire, Antisocial, Cyberbullying and etc.

I myself have an idea where one of the nightmare critters is friendly and helps us on our mission to save kissy missy and defeat the prototype. the main enemy if it's not the prototype, could be a failed toy who has a grudge on huggy wuggy as their toylines where released around the same time, but huggy took the spotlight and left the enemy to fade away.

The reason why it took so long to release chapter 3 was because they were working on Their multiplayer game project playtime and many employees who worked in previous chapters left. Ch 3 was supposed to release late 2023 but decided to delay it due to the game being unfinished.

In my opinion, the sheep is a rejected toy🧸 that was thrown to garbage of the poppy playtime co's 🗑️. And also the photo where mob entertainment uploaded something like "Our Smiling critters have been through something. Or someone" it might be the revenge of the sheep. And also the nightmare version of it might be the one who attacked kissy missy 😭 at the end of chapter 3. Talking about dog day critter, sheep was blindfolded by revenge and then suddenly attacked dog day smiling critter. 🤔

Who knew, it might be made by prototype. I don't understand why the prototype is leaving us and waiting. My theory is, the prototype wants to die, also he wants to end the misery of his friends. So he is allowing the worker to kill all the play care toys. My other guess is the prototype in the poppy voice is the one who invited the worker, maybe the worker will show the world what happened to them.

Here’s something I didn’t catch the first time I watched this trailer. Yes, it is quite obvious the sheep (Baba Chops) killed all those smaller toys, but since it was revealed that neither the sheep nor the Nightmare Critters were the main villains, what if Baba wasn’t killing them for herself or the other Nightmare Critters? Especially because there are massive piles of dead toys that look more dead than eaten. And as for the red, yellow and blue square pattern, I think it’s obvious who the main villain is: Boxy Boo. Look at the colors and the shape, and also know that Boxy was the very first of the Bigger Bodies Initiative. And added, we haven’t even seen Boxy in game aside from his cameo in The Hour of Joy VHS. So what I’m thinking is that the Nightmare Critters (Baba specifically) are killing smaller toys in order to feed a bigger toy (Boxy Boo).

He was called by prototype, as his data might be present in the computer or anywhere. Prototype's purpose is to kill all play care toys to end their uncontrollable misery. It's just by guess.
