Poppy from the UK was bed and sofa-bound from CFS/ME for nearly 2 years, and then she discovered her way out. She's now thriving. She shares the 3 things that helped her most in this 5 minute overview (well, it’s closer to 7 minutes) in her own words. TIMESTAMPS:
Poppy submitted her recovery story recap in her own words, unlike my other interviews where I’m there asking questions. This video part of my new mini recovery story series (5 to 10 minute videos), for people with limited stamina/time.
TIMESTAMPS:
0:13 Intro, onset, and how life was like being bed & sofa-bound
1:31 Poppy’s first spark of hope - became able to paint and go outside
2:35 Something was missing - a call that changed everything
3:43 The recovery story video that made everything click
4:32 What Poppy’s life has been like in the last year
5:46 Inspiring words of hope
6:11 Pictures of Poppy now
Mentioned in this video:
- CFS School: www.chronicfatigueschool.com/...
- Karden Rabin
- Rebecca Tolin’s recovery story interview: healwithliz.com/rebeccas-powe... (Written Transcript)
• Rebecca Tolin's CFS re... (KZbin)
- Rebecca Tolin's Be Your Own Medicine course: courses.rebeccatolin.com/cour... [Next live 10-week cohort registration closes October 2, 2023]
Note: Poppy is not a health practitioner and works at a forest school.
A Friendly Request from Liz: Guests on my channel are for inspiration and nothing shared is medical advice. Guests are not intended for troubleshooting urgent matters over social media or email. Please consult a trusted health provider if you are in any type of distress.
Guests often love hearing gratitude for their story, but please be considerate if reaching out in terms of the content shared, length of the message, and the amount and type of follow-up questions and be mindful of a person’s time, privacy, and emotional bandwidth. If you are seeking help from a guest who is a practitioner, or a practitioner whom a guest mentions, please do not send multiple urgent emails and then cancel or no-show without compensating the person in some way. This is much appreciated and is not about anyone in particular. Also, all is good if you’ve done this before, just asking for the future.
Sending my encouragement and support! For more inspiring stories and ME/CFS recovery resources go to healwithliz.com.

I’ve watched dozens of your recovery videos, and love them. I had been taking a break from them recently, but these new short recovery vids are awesome, and will def start watching them again. No need to even use time stamp to get to the meat and potatoes of what worked. Love it, thanks so much Liz! 🙏🏽

❤❤❤❤ Look at you absolutely shining poppy. So incredible to see, after starting our cohurt together and seeing you barely being able to lift your head of the pillow in the first call to now, you are absolutely glowing. So inspirational. ❤❤

@@poppywildman5717 hey Poppy, when you got that “ah ha” moment and started to expand energy, was it met with resistance from the brain? Was it sending symptoms and what helped you get through those times? Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing your story 🩵🩵☺️

Thank you! Did Poppy take Rebecca Tolin’s Be Your Own Medicine Course?
@HealwithLiz
@HealwithLiz 8 ай бұрын
Yes, Poppy did Jen & Karden's CFS School then Rebecca Tolin's Be Your Own Medicine. :-) Many of us did multiple programs to heal, because each presents things in a unique way. I provide detailed descriptions and participant insights in the independent Programs Guide I made with Lindsay Vine. Rebecca's latest live cohort just started and Jen & Karden have a major update coming.

I'd love to do a longer one at some point too, especially if people have more questions! Was hard to fit everything I wanted to say in such a short time, although I personally generally prefer the shorter ones (short attention span😂). Thanks for watching though!❤

How do you stop or mitigate getting symptoms during a sleep cycle. I can feel my body warming up, and bam I wake up fatigued and with sore muscles. Do you know of a strategy to stop this or minimize it.

@@poppywildman5717 That is so amazing! I'm in burnout recovery, slowly I'm finding out that my symptoms are like the same as most with LC, CFS, AFS etc. It's all kinda the same, I'm about 70% functional again, I went on vacation to London 3 weeks ago and try to do some sports, but my energy is still a bit low and I can have brain fog etc.
