Tidal Surge at Cromer

On 9th November 2007 the Norfolk coast suffered a tidal surge, thought by many to be the worst since the devasting floods of January 1953. Such surges are caused by a combination of wind and tide; in this instance the wind was not fully in the north so the storm was not as severe as it might have been.
