If we're being like that, they are more kpop than jpop. They trained in Korea, they debuted in Korea, their ceo is a former kpop idol, and they utilize the kpop industry promotions, like korean music shows, korean variety shows.

It's worth noting that a significant portion of KPOP is managed under the AVEX Japanese entertainment conglomerate. For instance, XG remains signed to a Japanese entertainment company (their parent company). The CEO has explicitly stated that they are not exclusively KPop, and their training takes place not only in Korea but also in Japan. Actually former KPop idol, doesn’t make XG KPop or JPop. lol. BoA is a south Korean singer train under JPop system, they still label her as KPop. XG can labeled under JPop or KPop, but right now they labeled them only as XPOp.

All members are signed under AVEX, a Japanese Entertainment corporation. 2. They underwent training in Japan, not solely in Korea. 3. The primary language spoken by all members is Japanese, a rarity among Kpop groups, and they were all born in Japan. 4. XGALX was established in Japan in 2017 before relocating to Korea. 5. The project was initially developed in collaboration with AVEX and Simon.

Let me provide more information: XG was trained in Japan and is signed as artists under AVEX. They were brought up by AVEX in Japan. XG is highly active in Japan, having been featured in major magazines such as VOGUE, FORBES, NYLON, and NIKE, all of which took place in Japan. Unlike most JPop groups who speak more Japanese than Korean, and K-pop groups who speak more Korean than Japanese, XG predominantly speaks Japanese. That basically say it more like JPop than K-pop, but as mentioned in their debut, they are label as XPOP. 👍

XG songs are all in English because their aim is to be a Global group. Theyre all Japanese, trained in Korea for 5 yrs prior to debut, and they speak English too - so trilingual. They used the Korean training system but Simon, the founder, wanted to make a healthier environment for women. He wanted to prove that their talent was all they needed without hypersexualizing them. XGALSX breaks several barriers

Tippy Toes was XG's debut (March 18th 2022); it's rather low key for XG, and generally considered as a kind of warning shot to the industry: we're here now "... but you ain't seen nothing yet ... we didn't come to play babe, here to dominate ..." so you better stay on your tippy toes. They really took off in 2023 with no less than 8 music videos (or 11 if I include the last Tape and Vox tracks). And I agree - if this were a US based group with a major US label, you would have had XG on heavy rotation all over the US the whole year.
