I was laughing so hard at Pete when he was like "my band will be bigger then any of your bands" hahahahaha, yeah you just keep dreaming Pete :D

She was very diplomatic with Pete. Must have had a lot of practise being in the Spice Girls haha

Look up Xtra Factor 2010! She's guest judge for the first auditions in Dublin. Hilariously, they edited it so we can see all the other judges(Louis, Simon and her protege Cheryl) rolling their eyes during her long and overly complex critiques and lectures for the contestants!😂😅😄
@gayfairs13 жыл бұрын
@wendersmac I think Cheryl is perfect for judging X Factor because she knows EXACTLY how the contestants feel, and she knows what it's like to be a popstar, and she knows very well how much winning one of these shows can change your life.

She really knows her stuff. Three of her Proteges did very well for themselves. She's a fantastic Dancer as seen to promote The Greatest Dancer.

Pete was clearly deluded at this point, believing in his own hype and blowing smoke up his own arse. He laughed at the Cheeky Girls and they went on to bigger success than his flop boyband! Petes vision was dated. His next big moment in the spotlight was for Eurovision a few years later, and even then he produced an absolutely dated song which flopped badly. I respect him for his previous successes, he was very much of his time and he made the most of his success, but you're not going to be 'current' forever. Everything comes to an end, and this was the televised decline of Pete's understanding of current music.

How the hell could Pete say that guy couldn't sing btw? He wasn't the best singer in the world but he could hold a pretty good tune and he didn't sound THAT bad!
@sparklemotion10110 жыл бұрын
Pete is crazy, at least in the clips I've seen. In Chapter 3 he openly mocked a great looking guy who was singing beautifully - Pete imitated him and told him he was terrible. Pete wasnt funny or clever, just cruel.

I like this better than X Factor. It's got less mock up. Not as much crap.

I agree. The producers of these shows nowadays (Simon Cowell et al) don’t get the concept of Less Is More. Most people don’t care about Amanda’s plastic face or the reactions of Rita Ora etc. We just want to see people auditioning without sob stories and dramatic music.

Pete's biggest problem was that he thought at that time he was to The UK what Maurice Starr (New Edition & New Kids On The Block) and what Lou Pearlman was to The Backstreet Boys & N'Sync and since he had such a High Track Record, he thought he as Ten Feet Tall and Bulletproof. However, Not everything that Maurice & Lou touched was Gold & Platinum. Maurice's Group Perfect Gentleman that had one of his Sons didn't go far nor did Lou's Group O-Town. So you never know. Also Chris Stokes The Self Described King Of The Black Boy Bands had a Group called B2K who had the Hit Record Bump Bump Bump who got screwed over big time. The Four Young Men still won't speak to each other and they have had problems with Domestic Violence, not to mention one of the Members getting beat up in China.
@MrReded693 жыл бұрын
I guess you haven't seen Lance Guest's doc The Boy Band Scam! EVERYTHING Lou Pearlman touched went to sh*t! N'SYNC and the Backstreet Boys were the only guys who got away from him before they ended up penniless and with nothing but trauma! And that's not even mentioning the boys he molested!!! In the end, the FBI and the IRS kicked the doors down and sent him to prison for the rest of his life. It says much that the only one who defends Pearlman is celebrity meth head loser Aaron Crackhead Carter!

Pete Waterman was the producer for Kylie minogue, Jason Donovan, Mel and Kim, Sonia, brother beyond etc in the 80’s
@laminage4 жыл бұрын
@@misplacedkiwi9498 Yes, in fact quite a few of the songs he worked with were hits in The US. Rick Astley (Never Gonna Give You Up), Princess (Say I'm You're Number One), Dead Or Alive (You Spin Me Round) later sampled by Flo Rida and Banarama (Venus) who were the only Girlband from the UK to do American Bandstand in the US.
@MrReded693 жыл бұрын
@@laminage I'm old enough to remember that Bananarama American Bandstand appearance(and American Bandstand before Dick Clark's contract with devil ran out and he started aging)! One girl kept cucking up the dance choreography and her belt fell off and tripped her up! Coincidentally, Pete Waterman tried to manage them in the latter part of their career(when they couldn't even pretend to be teenagers anymore). On his interview with Piers Morgan he claimed it aged him 50 years in less than a month!

Id sort of agree with you Melv but Simon Cowell and Clive Davis can't sing a note either but no-one questions thier opinions on music. I dont discount geri because she didn't have hte best voice - she has the industry experience about how cutthroat it is and what people are looking for.

The Boy Sang Too Loud even though he was told "Not" to. Now can you imagine how difficult he'd be to work with in terms of taking directions in The Studio. If this had been US Record Producer who worked with The US Popstars Group Eden's Crush, The Boy would have been sent home no questions asked.
