In The Switch. They don't swap body. They "swap" lives. Her grandmother moves to London lives in her flat uses her phone etc. And she moves into her grandma's house and takes on neighbourhood watch position. I'm not saying you should read it. But I just wanted to take away that body swap cringe. 😂

I agreed with a lot of this. I am currently cleaning out my shelves of tons of YA fantasy from book boxes or that I bought because of, frankly, over enthusiasm. It is making me feel lighter and the owner of my local used bookshop says he can't keep it on the shelves. I live in a really small town with no new bookstores, so it makes me feel good that someone is getting a kick out of the books.

It's funny how we're either exactly on the same page with taste or like the complete opposite. There's no in-between. I do really want to read a little life & haha I even own it but lol before I found my copy at a thrift store I was staying the hell a way from it for the same reasons as you. But I guess cheap books are my weakness and then I eventually became really hyped about wanting to read it. Also, there are many classics I don't want to read either but there are also a few I do want to read. Lol, I love how you refuse to read catcher in the rye (which I'm currently reading). Woaw, I somehow thought you really loved the flatshare & actually read it. Haha, no idea how I came to think that. I secretly want to read your version of the switch since that sounds so freaking wild. Damn, I didn't know about the whole LJ Shen stuff. I also so agree with you about Jasmine Guillery. I really disliked her older royalty Christmas romance novel, which truly wasn't good at all. I also agree with the whole college thing. College aged characters hell yess but actual books about college? NO THANK YOU. I have to say that nothing of Christina Lauren can compare to the unhoneymooners & I also really liked some of their older works but indeed their latest releases tend to be really forgettable and kind of meh. I think that math titled book will be my last book of theirs if it also makes me feel meh. Also, woaw somehow I haven't noticed that black out first sexual intercouse but omg you're so right. It is something that happens frequently. That's kind of really sus.

I completely get that. If there is a book I don’t think I’ll read...I generally don’t spend time thinking about it. The only exception is if it is something that is shoved down my throat by readers I know or the media. One that comes to mind are the Fifty Shades of Gray books.... lol Harlequin romances. I dunno. I get not wanting to read A Little Life because of the way people talk about it, but I don't think the way people talk about it and portray it is accurate or generous to the book. It's true that it has some of the most devastating depictions of trauma and abuse I've read, but it's not page after page of torture porn. There are a lot of really hopeful, positive, and genuine aspects of this book. It doesn't end happily, but I think it would have been weird if it had. I don't know, I'm not disagreeing with you specifically, I'm just annoyed with the larger reputation of this book being "torture porn" or people reading it just to be sad when I think there are genuinely meaningful and moving things being said and portrayed about the legacy of trauma in a life. And if that's not something people want to read that's fine, I don't have a problem with that, but I don't think the book gets enough credit is all.

I was like you about serpent and dove. I kept hearing people talking about it and I got it in my mind that I wouldn't like it and then one day I heard it described differently and I got intrigued and read it, and I absolutely loved it. It's got a historical France fantasy setting where a male dominated church hunts down witches, and a witch ends up being forced to marry one of them and stay alive without revealing that she's a witch. It was really good. You might want to rethink that one.

No interest in A Little Life, what so ever. Also, no interest in ever reading Sara J Maas again. She specializes in "red shirt" heroines (aka too stupid to live), and I have no patience for that. I have no interest in most classics, but particularly anything by Hemmingway and Melville. No interest in what I consider "the Hallmark style" writers, such as Jodi Piccolit and Debbie Macomber. I don't tend to pay attention to Twitter/Instagram etc. drama. I'm not on any of those platforms, and I have no time for all that highschool "mean girl B. S. ". I've no interest in YA, in general.
