As a fish geek I think most species are lovely but cichlids are on a whole other level. The diversity in size & shape, temperament, pattern & color is unmatched. Not to mention how personable so many of them can be.

The Geophagus Balzanii or as it is also known as the Argentine Humphead, originates from the Paraná River basin area of the Paraguay drainage area of Brazil and Paraguay; the Paraná drainage in Argentina, and the lower Uruguay drainage in Uruguay and Brazil.

I have a breeding pair of convicts in my 🦚 & Hap tank And they just do their thing , and the 40 (bigger) African Cichlids don't mess with them 😂😮

Yep I have a habit of mispronouncing Spanish names, not a good habit but at least its consistent.
