I read both of Shane's books and have watched his content for many years. His mother has always been an inspiring and amazing woman and she is super cool. All her children have confirmed this multiple times by their obvious respect and love for her and the people they've become in large part to her upbringing. People can feel free to call Shane what they want but I see a changed and strong man who has had an impact on many people who are still positively affected by his content. I'm still rooting for him and will continue being TEAM SHANE!

As a therapist I interpreted a lot of the groups laughter as being uncomfortable, not bullying Chris although I can see why other commenters may have thought that. What Chris shared was very vulnerable and not commonly talked about, which makes people not sure how to respond and sometimes laughing at the reality of the awkwardness is an easy way to fill those gaps. We know you boys love each other, and I know Chris felt uncomfortable to some degree but his willingness to share also shows that he feels relatively safe too. Keep on loving each other❤

If the last time she had nails done, it was the same design or pattern thingy, maybe it's that old nail on bed. If most of your nails got old, u aren't gonna think *there's that one good nail left, i will wait till it gets old too* So, let's say u plan to get the same design re-done newly, the same pattern, cuz u love the lit design from last time and u don't feel like exploring new stuff, for now u just want good looking nails which u already are familiar with. Instead of risky new look u end up hating later or something. Imagine most of nails are messed up and u gonna get it all done new in like, in a FEW hours, *u aren't gonna pay attention whether that one good nail is missing or still there* doesn't matter anymore. what matters is u get the exact look u wanted, whether u go there on time, whether u gotta buy groceries or eat on way home, etc. So it's highly likely u didn't notice the one good nail fell off, smack in center of your bed even. It's what i think went down with her. Unless of course, she's like me. I don't focus much of nails but, if I were to get it done, I'd notice every single scratch that happens, when it happens, how it happens etc. I don't even try to but it's just a habit.

I’ve been there and I completely relate but the Christmas rock bottom moment literally brought me to tears. I’m so happy to see how far they’ve come and I’m sure it was really hard on their mom trying that hard to keep her boys happy. My whole heart broke

Yup. That's what kept me away from it. My come down were horrendously bad. A decade long opioid drug habit took me down a road Where I lost every single thing, became homeless,etc I'd do ecstacy, cocaine, fentayl, ketamine, Xanax, Adderall but mostly pain medications especially during the oxycontin blowup of the early-mid 2000's. I remember b4 I started my recovery I was just using so I could get through the day. It wasn't a "fun, party" thing. I've lost my brother, best friends, many many people. I'm over 6yrs sober now but I'll never forget the traumatic shit I put myself through, what my addiction was and had become. I feel like I'm incredibly blessed to be here. I nearly OD'd on eating fentayl patches.

Same here. It's been a little over 6yrs for me. But for by the grace of God, go I. My DOC was pain medication but really any and all drugs. Oxycontin and dilauded became my main thing especially during the oxycontin of 2000's. That stuff was everywhere! Then they cut it off and what do you think ppl went to once they got so extremely sick after their docs cut em off suddenly. Heroin! :/ I've been to too many funerals including my eldest brothers. Congrats on your recovery. Please don't give up! 🙏

Thank you for sharing this! As a female as well, Chris’ confession made me realize I may have an addiction to sex as well. I’ve released during work countless times, basically have the need to release at sporadic times in a day. Sex is an actual addiction, it really sucks people don’t take it serious as much.

I had a friend (she a bitch) but she used to cry to me, about how she just used to be trying to sleep for HOURS, she had work in the morning and she just HAD To “sort it out” and it would be at least an hour.. and she would feel so so shit afterwards, to this day, even though she has done me real dirty, I just can’t imagine it. I have 0 sex drive, sometimes I wish it was high, but then hearing her talk about it, like I just deal with it

When that girl froze, she was having a “focal impaired awareness behavioral arrest seizure”. The symptoms are usually when people just doze off, or randomly stop paying attention to their surroundings. However, sometimes their body can just freeze all together. It’s a strange form of unconsciousness, it’s why she looked so confused yet scared when she snapped back. I looked into this because something similar happened to my grandpa. We thought he stopped breathing or something. We were all gathered around in the living room, and my uncle told a funny joke. In the middle of my grandpa laughing, he just stopped and froze. We were all freaking out, and he was like that for 10 seconds, and then snapped back like he didn’t even know what happened. We didn’t know it, but it was a seizure and like this girl, it triggered when he laughed too hard.

It was nice to hear Jerid talk about his addiction to cocaine I had an addiction to cocaine which I have overcame thank god but no one ever talks about it and it’s nice to hear what I was feeling and doing I wasn’t the only one going through those things especially when it came to food, pupils, and meeting people who you know care about. Also the environments you put yourself into and getting out of it the mindset change, personally I don’t drink anymore because it affects my mental health badly and puts me back in the place of wanting to use again. Defos not acting full of myself or anything I’m no saint and yes I don’t drink but I do smoke 🍁

That is so awesome. You should definitely be proud of yourself. Overcoming an addiction is an extremely difficult thing to accomplish. And being self aware enough to know that by drinking it endangers your sobriety so you avoid it is incredibly amazing. That takes extreme strength. Did you make mistakes in your past? Meaning if their is a movie or show or something and it shows a drug scene don't be like omg gotta turn it off now in other words don't do thing's like that because myself personally n' other addicts who are in recovery it's awkward when people start tip toeing & doing things differently.. Yes, sadly that is the reaction by too many people because they don’t fully understand it’s a sensitive subject that can often make people feel very vulnerable. I wonder if it’s due to the culture of sex being something positive and also at the same time being that topic that is shamed by many in society for various reasons? When addiction and struggling with coping mechanisms are mixed into the sex subject sadly too many will lose track on the focus point- being the person struggling with an addiction (or loss of controll and dealing with a compulsive behaviour).

It definitely is a very taboo and misunderstood topic. The idea of sex has been warped over time. Some people say sex is healthy and normal and a positive thing. Others say sex is something to be ashamed of and that it is gross. I agree it was a little mean for them to not take it seriously. But it’s hard for someone who doesn’t go through that specific issue to understand fully. I believe it should be talked about more and we need to break down society’s thoughts on sex.

It was 5yrs ago I had went to rehab. The way Jared explained how it first starts out and gradually grows into something and all of a sudden you cant recognize yourself, your environment and know something has to change. Thank you for opening up on this, maybe it could also help someone. It does get so much better. Ngl, at first it is definitely hard but I'd go thru that hard part 100x to get to this point and be able to experience emotions again. I think I had started to forget my emotions, as some do as well, but the cleaner you get, the more appreciative you are of being able to feel again and help work through what you were trying to forget. If that makes any sense? Idk, main thing is, it definitely has its highs and lows but when you get thru to the other side its 100% worth it.

As an alpaca lover and previous alpaca owner, I just have to mention that MOST the images you shown on the screen were Llamas, not Alpacas. The first video that pops up on screen was definitely an alpaca. The camelid in the picture with the people standing beside it amongst the Peruvian mountains is a llama. There is a big difference between them, not only physically but personality wise as well. Llamas are much bigger and have the banana shaped ears. From what I have heard they seem to be more temperamental (although I have no experience with llamas, only alpacas). Alpacas have more fiber on the faces/over their eyes. Their ears don't curve like Llamas do. They are very curious, gentle and sometimes shy creatures. Although, if you work with them a lot and get them used to being handled, alpacas are very great pets! In this video, it you look at the short clip of the alpaca that I mentioned above that is shown at the beginning (Time reference: 12:02) and compare it to the image at 12:14, which has a llama and Peruvian mountains in the background, you will see the difference in the faces. Llamas naturally have little fiber on their face. Alpacas on look similar when they get sheared, but even then, its pretty easy to see the difference. At 12:33 there is a video clip of alpacas that have been sheared. Look at the ears too for both! The llama in that photo has the banana shaped ears and the alpaca in the beginning has straighter ears. Also the type of camelid on the Peruvian flag is not an alpaca or even a llama, its a Vicuña. I don't know really anything about this type of camelid, but it goes to show that there are many different types of camelids so it is important to know which kind your speaking of. Heres a list: Camels (kind of obvious, lol), Llamas, Alpacas, Vicuñas, Gaunaco, Lamini, and then the extinct ancestor of the camelids you see today, the procameulos. But yes, alpacas are very well known in Peru. I am not here to shame or to judge. I just want to help educate. This topic is very important to me because many people don't know the difference between them. I hope I helped a little. Again, this comment is not intended to be rude at all. I just wanted it to be a helpful one. I love your videos! Keep up the amazing work! :)

And sometimes if cocaine isn’t it enough you keep going up with harder drugs. And most people either stop and say I can’t do this anymore at their lowest. It’s called an absence seizure and they last around 10-15 seconds. I have this form of epilepsy. It’s a weird feeling!

I love how real this podcast gets. Unfortunately I lost a brother with a drug addiction 10 months ago. It was the worse phone call I ever got in my life and he died two days after his birthday. We had tried so many times to get help for him but he didn't see it. He didn't see that he needed help. He kept saying that he was fine and has it under control. I wish my brother had that wake up call of seeing that he was ruining his life with drugs. Our parents did all they could to get him help but he would turn them down. Hearing Jerrid talk about how he came out of it. It's really a blessing. Glad you shared your story, you're definitely one of the few that make it out.

Jerid. Thank you for sharing. I’m molly and I’m an addict, in recovery. I used to smoke Craxxk and Fetty. I’m now two years clean next month, I have 3 kids I finally have reunified with in my home and I have completely changed my life. I related when you said anything appealing to you you become addicted to. I’m the same way. I even still vape heavily and have been working hard to reroute my mind and figure out ways to become less addictive. I’m from Boston, there’s a place called mass ave- it’s like a smaller skid row, I lived there for a whileeee and have hallucinated multiple times due to loss of sleep and thought people were after me constantly. Thank goodness I have become a better version of myself- although the work is hard it’s very worth it. Thanks for bringing awareness to addiction. My life’s goal now is to be honest as hell with my kids and try to make sure they never turn to things that ruin their lives. Anyway, I appreciate this episode so much and had tears in my eyes. Love you guys! I would kill to be on this podcast with y’all, I feel like you guys are my best friends lol

Thank you so much for talking about cocaine addiction, I did alot of coke and mdma in my life and always feel really alone about it and worry that I permanently destroyed my body and brain. What made me quit was I was litteraly about to have a heart attack, was having heart palpitations and chest pain for hours after doing coke and I was so scared, I almost went to the hospital but was too paranoid to. Seeing someone like you who's successful and intelligent who has also done the same things makes me feel alot better.

Hi, I work in the medical field and to me, it looks like the girl who’s “glitching” is having an absence seizure. Happens more in children than adults though but it can happen! Someone who’s having an absence seizure can look like they’re staring blankly into space for a few seconds, like a glitch. And after that they quickly return to a normal level of alertness.. I hope that made sense!

The girl who was laughing and then froze could have had what's called a "petite mal" seizure, or absence seizure. I have them as a part of my ASD, and they don't typically look like that, but it's different for everyone. You just kinda... stop. No pain, no nothing, just freezing similar to that. They aren't serious at all, but if they happen too frequently you can be put on seizure meds for them.
