Arjun ji in the uttara kanda of your Essential Ramayana, you have given the reason for Ravana not molesting Sita, and it being that when he Ravana rapes Rambha the wife of Nalakubara he is cursed by them that if he tries to violate a woman ever again his head would roll , that he would die. Hence he stops from violating Sita. The fear of the curse acting on him is what stops him from violating Sita.

Thanks for the comment. I hope you have read the Prologue of the book too :) While the Uttara-kaanda provides a mystical reason for Raavana not violating Seetaa, the psychological reason can be gleaned from the other kaandas of the Raamaayana :)
