It seems like they agree about how a Utopia should exist generally, but they just can't find common ground leading to it. Candace Owens seems willfully ignorant several times here, though. She also contradicts herself quite obviously and often, even though she is technically honest, considering each claim separately. Russell showed a beautiful example of patience and tenacity in this podcast/interview. P.S. I think they're both wrong about god(s).

Yes, he does and his sincerity is obvious and I have striven for many years to get to this point and I kinda am worried I wont because as soon as she grins with admiration when Jordan Peterson is mentioned- I feel some anger beginning to rise...Namaste Z (after listening- she is naive and I am with him- anarchy, Russell and I have been around longer...) IS SHE A TEACHER, LORD HELP ANY STUDENT WHO DISAGREES WITH HER- A GOOD TEACHER ALLOWS FOR DISAGREEMENT AS LONG AS YOU CAN BACK UP YOUR ARGUMENT. MAYBE IT IS ME TODAY, I HAD A BAD DAY YESTERDAY, A DAY Candace wouldn't allow for-- mental illness to her is laziness probably, she is getting under my skin, I have a feeling she isn't very compassionate, Jordan Peterson "fell", his vulnerability became apparent but he owned up to it- I don't feel she is using her power for the good at all... she IS a teacher- bull, black people have been and are victimized (I am not black), sorry she has lost me...I guess I will check out one of her beloved monopolies, Amazon and see what she has written, cringe....

The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge (Daniel Boorstin). Russell is a true seeker of knowledge. Candace talks at warp speed to create the illusion that she has the answers to EVERYTHING….lol. If you slow her down, you see she throws multiple ideas at the listener at once. She pretends she’s a scholar on anorexia and the religious history of fasting. She doesn’t give you the chance to question where she gleaned such information. Don’t fall for it. She’s a gifted speaker but she’s no intellectual.

Candace is too smart and strong that she lacks empathy. She doesn’t understand that not everyone can be smart, mentally strong, driven and solve their own problems like her, not everyone have parents and community that can guide or support them. I do agree with her that anyone who works hard can improve their life but at the same time those who are in the lower rung of society are working hard but their earnings cannot get them out of poverty or afford them better opportunities. I enjoy her strength and find her very motivational but I agree with you, not everyone has the drive, the circumstances or the ability to gain success. Hard work does not automatically reward that, for example I work extremely hard since I was 15, I am now 45 I have never been successful, I have never had wealth, my spouse(s) through out my life (males) have always made 3 to 5 times more than me, even though I'm considered a "professional", and if I was single I would be living on the poverty line.

Russel, the worst thing you can do to a child is with compassion as you define it. The best you can do for them is give them courage to compete. You do no good for a child to over protect them, and it is worse for society. I think that’s Candace’s point. The government has told the black community, “you’ve been oppressed so we will take care of you. You don’t have to compete in society (because you are too far behind)! If the black community has any problem, and they do), it is in lack of expectations, both in themselves and both parties.

Holding onto it, the longer you do, it harms you , it burns you, and it does nothing to the person you're hating or angry at. Their not opposing sides though - russel has a different viewpoint but it’s anarchist not necessarily left, and he’s also trying to learn I wouldn’t say he’s completely made his mind up. Usually in a debate both sides have made their mind up - he was more of a facilitator and interviewer. Was still lovely to see disagreement still be amicable and informative

Conversational debate opens the door to first, state your opinion not tell the adversary they are wrong. Secondly, to find common ground and possibly change the view of your opponent. Then leave the debate still friends. That no longer exists in most people and definitely has no existence in politics!

I'm not, according to the test. According to it, I qualify as a "left-leaning libertarian." I don't see that, really, but there are things that I believe in that are not in our present fabric. I believe that your ENTIRE education, even throughout college, should be free. Not paid for by the public, JUST FREE. That's not socialistic, that's common sense. I’ve only watched half of the podcast at this point but, I believe in the power of the individual but it took me years to find my own strength. I became unemployed when my kids were young and I started receiving food stamps. For several years I was employed on and off always ending up back on government assistance. It wasn’t until a new government policy threatened to revoked my ability to renew my food stamps unless I actively sought gainful employment. The requirements were similar to those of unemployment where I had to provide the contact information where I applied for jobs and the outlets I used to do so. It was a full time job seeking a job. It was such a successful program that I actually found employment and have been off government assistance ever since. With that said, had I not been forced into it, I would not have believed I could do it. I did need the government help, but I become dependent on it and developed a mindset that I wouldn’t be able to survive without it. It was a necessity, but it needed to be a limited time frame for me.

@@diatonicjon corporations aren’t moronic I said the idea that they care about you is moronic. But we as a society have the power to shut them down by boycotting. We as a people don’t have much political capitol because the game is so riggged the government really only works to prop up the special interest groups. But if money is speech and money is power, then we’ve got to come together and force a change in government. Most political movements were successful because they had a financial aspect. We need to demand education reform, healthcare reform, and power over where our taxes go. If we fix these 3 things, people will be more informed healthier and more optimistic in government. People will be more self sufficient and will buy more borrow more and that stimulates the economy. Stop giving corporations reasons to sell start giving people reasons to buy. That’s how you fix the economy.

I’m sorry, but steamrolling the opponent with your motor-mouth doesn’t seem to me like the way to go. Russell is SO much more comfortable expressing his ideas confidently without having to talk over her. I just see a completely sincere person confronting an insincere person who is incapable of admitting faults. I also do not appreciate how much hatred and scorn she transmits. She turns everything into a Manichean choice between extremes, a totally populist discourse that easily manipulates uncultivated minds. No respect for her ideology or her altogether.

Frankly, I cannot bear this woman’s never-ending, speedy, relentless and extremely aggressive manner of speaking, drowning out what the other person is saying, always assuming that she knows what the other person is thinking or what their values are more so than that person himself or herself. She’s always trying to prove she is “brilliant” instead of really focusing on the actual discussion and attempting to achieve a deeper understanding of the matter at hand. Many times, on her podcasts she discusses or critiques with extreme intensity subject matters that are banal and quite unimportant if compared to the variety of extreme problems humanity is facing. In this conversation I developed an even greater admiration for Russell because he showed her a softness and gentleness that we rarely see.

Although I like Russ mainly because he comes from the same town as me and we were both addicted to the same crap there's a great deal I can't agree with him and I think he's changed since this interview he was jammed to the left at this time - and you are very correct the conversation would be very different between these 2 possibly a lot less procrastination from Russ and more pure agreement. The only thing I'm upset about is Candace not recognizing Trump as an obvious grifter. When a bully exposes other bullies he's jockeying for position, He's not hoping to to dismantle the system that keeps him in elite power. We needed Trump to help expose the BS to more people. But Trump, along with almost all politicians on both sides, is NOT the people's friend. I feel like Candace should know that he wasn't even mildly attempting to bust up google or facebook or amazon. The best protection of freedom is to be educated on the unique character of our country and the government our founders set up. @Nicholas Frechen I think you got a good chunkmof this right. However, continuing the right vs left trend is extremely dangerous. The left doesn't see the government as broken while the right sees it as a failure. If we find a healthy balance between right and left we could strengthen the individual and community by placing those programs sponsored by the government in the trash, and becoming compassionate for ourselves. The left wants to place compassion in the government while the right wants the government to be almost obliterated. I am neither. I am a conspiracy nut honestly. Nothing we do with government can work because of the power it retains but because of the power we feed into it. Basically, by staring right or left in a conversation these days one side goes willfully deaf to what you are saying.
