I put your playlists and mixes on at work at my restaurant; I just want you to know that daily, multiple tables will stop me to ask for your playlists. It’s truly wonderful music, and it makes people happy. Thank you.

Where's your restaurant located? If it's anywhere close to where I am in the Ozarks, I know I'd be a regular customer.

I am a huge, huge fan of the Wood Panel Collection, but this might just be even better. The imagery is amazing. Please, if you can, bring back that Nihon disco piece with the images of 60s and 70s Japan.

Fabulous collection! I have always been fond of these lounge tunes from the late 60s to the mid-70s (back in the day itself and again during the 'lounge' fad of the late 90s (where these tunes were not often played - mostly music from the earlier period of Yma Sumac, Tito Puente, late Sinatra, Tiki this and that, etc. You were lucky if they played Brasil '66 from time to time). On a cultural note, though 'Populuxe' is, indeed Thomas Hine's portmanteau neologism for 'popular luxury', this music dates from the time directly AFTER the high period of Populuxe which Hine determined to conclude around 1964 with the design excesses (and mentality) of the 1964 New York World's Fair (and the debut of the Ford Mustang - which Hine opines was the last instance of Populuxe and simultaneously the progenitor of a new mentality in popular design - sleek, unembellished, available to any demographic but when appropriated BY that demographic, taking on a discreet system of signs, ie: there's a big difference between Steve McQueen and Serge Gainsbourg's Ford Mustang socially and culturally and that owned by a Madison Avenue junior executive or a middle class intellectual slumming it in protests at Berkeley. Hine wrote a lesser known 'sequel' to 'Populuxe' (with an unwieldy title I surmise was a deliberate move to thwart any chic appropriation as a catch-all descriptor): "The Great Funk: Falling Apart and Coming Together on a Shag Carpet in the Seventies." So, in theory, this collection could be called 'Great Funk' (even though most of it ISN'T, of course, funk music).
