POR-15 2K Industrial Urethane with Stop Rust System

Hi, Have you had luck with POR-15 sticking to paint on metal? I have a steel trailer that is painted black and is rusting badly. Would I need to remove the paint for the POR to work? Thanks!

We would recommend removing the paint for two reasons in that situation. One, there is likely rust under the existing paint. Two, the rust preventive coating would only adhere as well as the paint you put it on; which is already compromised from the rust. Note the rust preventive needs to be top coated with an opaque paint if exposed to UV light. Our 2K topcoat urethane is good for trailers, but you can use what you want.
