Not so sure about understated when it comes to Gavin Tim. He is widely recognised as among the top 3 drummers playing on the planet at the moment - even now.

I think his playing is brilliant and understated. What I mean is that it's not over the top or showy. Maybe you saw underrated, not understated.

@@timhilton7254 spot on. I did read it as underrated. You are absolutely right. Much as I know Z loves and is only being complimentary of his playing, Gavin never partakes in over playing for over playings sake. No song involving Gavin could ever be said to be a 3 minute drum solo. His tastefulness and creativity and suitabiity of what he plays, how and when he plays it is sensational. The best.

Goosebumps every time I listen to this song. It's actually a very sad song, I belive SW said it's about suicide. I found this on internet:" An inspiration for this song was the story of two Wisconsin girls who apparently killed themselves in a suicide pact. Arielle Daniel, 17, and Heather Bates, 14, were struck by an Amtrak train on November 12, 2005 in what was ruled a suicide, but was possibly an accident. Daniel was a huge Porcupine Tree fan and created the band's MySpace page - it was reported that she was listening to Porcupine Tree on her iPod when she died." Very sad but so beautiful.

@@Zwodrey Yes, indeed. Steven is so good to add extra power to his songs😊 As a solo artist he created many beautiful /sad songs. Maybe you'll take a look at his solo work some time. Drive home, Routine, Pariah, Refuge, The raven that refused to sing. Most of them are pretty sad, especially Routine. Just have a big box cleenex near you if you decide to see the video for Routine

Gavin Harrison is a gold standard drummer ,but SW also has gold standard drummers in his solo band. Marco minnemann, followed by Craig blundell,you should check them both out.

a little snare (extra snare?) flip adjustment real quick at 3:05. Not a drummer, but he did some switchy stuff to adjust the sound of his drum just left of his left hand (man, my sentence sounds dumb ah). But hopefully a cool drummer person can verify.
