I am born and raised SC (Orangeburg county). It hit me hard when you spoke on the “small town mentality”. I understand and I congratulate you on your journey in your faith and hope you continue down the path you feel is best. When you spoke about the porn industry monopolizing on deaths in the industry, my first thought was Amber Rayne… And many more who are just dismissed as it being “part of the industry”. Thank you for bringing up that point.

@tinymite1645
@tinymite1645 2 жыл бұрын
@Shelby Bergeross I totally get what you're saying. Many kids nowadays fo think that way. But as this former porn-star-turned-pastor said, we can change. We can change our minds. We can change our lives. We can change our job. We can change our hearts. We can change. We can ask for forgiveness from our Lord in Saviour Jesus Christ who paid for our sins with His death & resurrection. It never happens overnight or even the first time a person accepts Christ into their heart, but that's the wonderful thing about the Lord. He knows what we'll do before we do it. He knows what's in our mind or on our hearts. He is standing "in the gap" before God for us, all the while we are trying daily to straighten up our lives.
@tinymite1645
@tinymite1645 2 жыл бұрын
@Shelby Bergeross I get all of that. I was "the mom" of my group of friends, who said I'd introduce my self with "Hi! I'm [name]. I'm a virgin." I don't believe I was that bad, but I will say I was one of the few girls who was at the 2 different high schools I went to. I was always designated driver,did sports, got grades, went to church, ect. So, when I say I understand, I REALLY understand. That said. This is where God it is important to to know & understand how God knows our hearts. He knows when we give empty promises or saying that we believe in Him. He is our Father though. Like a parent who never gives up, never stops loving us, ect., on their child, only SO much better. When your relationship with Him is the center of your life, where He is why you do what you do & say what you say, then in all honesty, your way of thinking is changed also. You don't think about how unfair it is that [insert. name] gets to do whatever they want (stealing, getting drunk, & even star in porn like this pastor did), then apologize to God, ask for forgiveness, but then the next day, they go back to acting like a fool. When you love others the way God loves us, all you want is that person to be saved, that person to know the peace that passes all understanding for them. This is why Jesus told us to stop trying to take the splinter out of another's eye, when we ourselves have a 2 x 4 log in our own eye. We are told not to judge others, because we are no better than they are. We are ALL sinners. Sin is sin is sin is sin. While here on Earth, sins that are crimes are punished by the degree of how bad it is, like murder or armed robbery or selling heroin to kids are all worse & the consequences much worse than say a parking or speeding ticket. But with God, it's not like that. It's why when Jesus was man, when he spoke about the Ten Commandments, He expanded their meanings. Like when He talked about laying with another's spouse (i.e. cheating). He also included that if you even just looked at another who isn't your spouse with lust, then you've cheated. Jesus told us, not asked, but told us, to love our enemies, believe in the Father, repent, pray always, go & make disciples, ect. It is why God said in Ephesians 2:8-10 that: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." He is the potter, while we are His clay. We do not EARN salvation, but were given the gift, sacrifice, & grace of His son, Jesus Christ. We do not EARN our salvation through anything we do. But this does not mean that good works are irrelevant to salvation. In fact, as this passage makes abundantly clear, salvation and good works are closely connected. Good works do not earn salvation, but they do follow salvation. To put it differently, we are not saved BY good works, but FOR good works. Good works are an expression of the fact that we have been saved by grace. God knows we are fallible, He wants us to be our best, live our best life, hence why He gave His only son to be man, live without sin, be crucified & die, & ultimately raise from the dead, so that we can receive grace & salvation. I hope this made sense & helps. (Sorry I can be a bit winded.) PLMK if you have anymore questions.

Actions do speak louder than words because they reflect where you are at spiritually, emotionally, mentally. You must grow and improve upon yourself in order for your past mistakes or bad deeds to nor be held to your current character. You don't automatically get forgiven without recognition and repentances. Otherwise you're let off, which isn't just.

John 7:24- Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” Just in case you want to be condescending to people who actually call out things in society. A pastor is to be above reproach/blameless. Works like murder or dealing in the porn industry are serious sins that God at one point condemned to death. Funny enough, when these types of sins are committed, they are publicized. A Pastor is an important position and shouldn't be taken lightly. It's a gatekeeping attribute that will keep certain people out of the most important position for the Christian community. You can ask God why He added that attribute to the list of qualifications.

@@sarahboehlke744 I think he is the best example of someone who serves God after they've committed terrible sins. Difference is, he isn't a Pastor. He's an apostle/evangelist. Evangelists are just people who preach God's word and do other things to encourage Christians near and far. Pastors are different and are responsible for a local congregation. As I explained 1000 times before in these threads, people can serve God without being a Pastor, and Paul is literally the shining example for that. I can tell by your comment that you assume I think that people can't be used by God if they've done wrong like murder,etc. But that's not the point I'm making.

Nothing. It is all the same. I don’t know him but what I know is that we all did something here and there that we are not proud of and I have no right to judge him for that. So maybe we need to be more open and be accountable for our own sins before we condemn others because their sins might be greater.

Honestly I’m pretty shocked and disgusted at some of these comments. If so many people on here say they are Christians what gives YOU the right to say how this man can change his life and praise God? What if this man was being trafficked? Abused? Would you not feel sympathy for him? Do some of you not remember WHO God used as his messengers? Paul for one, who was one of the most famous killed hundreds of men and women who were followers of Christ. But, guess what God used him as a message. That no matter who or what you’ve done if you surrender your life to God you can be a better and stronger person. God has a love for us that we cannot comprehend and it’s very clear by these comments that some people need to look in the mirror before they look into this screen. God bless!

@@japan100100 What I’m saying is God uses people to teach his word. A messenger to all people. Saying with His blood you may be reborn and washed away of your sins. So yes I believe others can preach (as those who did in Biblical times) did. No human is perfect. In fact, you could say God used the most UNPERFECTED people as a symbol of rebirth in His grace. Such as how Jesus rose from the dead because of the Lord’s power. We can rise from the ashes of our sin through the Blood of Christ. As a messenger of God it is OUR DUTY to preach His word to others. So yes this man is PREACHING God’s word to others and sharing his story to others that have or are going through the same thing. THAT is why God uses him. So that those same people know they are NOT ALONE and can find comfort and satisfaction in the Lord’s Embrace. A pastor is not without sin. You can be ABOVE reproach through God. It says that a pastor should not be greedy, drunken, or violent. It does not say a pastor could never become a preacher if they have done those things in the past. It says a pastor who teaches GIVES THOSE THINGS UP when they turn to a life of teaching God’s word.
@japan100100
@japan100100 2 жыл бұрын
@@codygates7418 "It says that a pastor should not be greedy, drunken, or violent." That's not all it says, buddy. God didn't say Pastors shouldn't be blameless just so you could ignore it/gloss over it. Its there for a reason, and is just as important as not being a drunk for example. "It does not say a pastor could never become a preacher if they have done those things in the past." Being a human being who sins is one thing. Broadcasting your sin to the world and then expecting that person to be respected in the most important position that God created for us is a problem. God doesn't want his PASTORS leading flocks who have a bad reputation. But those same people CAN preach the gospel and do other work for God. Being a Pastor is not the only avenue for someone who wants to serve. God made a distinction for these positions and they are not to made light of. God outlined these attributes because there WILL be people who want to be Pastors who end up not fitting the qualifications and yet not care and do it anyway. The whole purpose is to follow God's instruction. If that person who follows God can't even respect God's qualifications, what else is that going to lead to? "It says a pastor who teaches GIVES THOSE THINGS UP" How do you give up being blameless/above reproach? You don't. The guy doesn't have to be a Pastor. And if the comments I've read about him being a sodomite are true, he probably is a fake Christian anyway who is more akin to the reprobate outlined in Romans 1. A typical mistake made by political Christians who seek to broaden their tent for support.

@@BobbyHiII You're comparing former porn stars with murderers. You're comparison is invalid. For your response to have any validity you would have to convince most people that porn stars are murderers. I'm going to believe that you are wise enough, that you believe in 2nd chances. Most people do believe in 2nd chances. And I must believe that you do too. But I'll try to see where you're coming from nontheless. So I'll say this. These days it sure does seem like the Democrat government, its governors, its and officials andva few Republicans who are dumb enough to be persuaded by Democrats are letting murderers out of jail in record numbers. And we should never let all the murderers out of jail. The only people who should have a chance of being released should be those people who have actually changed. These people would have to convince a parole board that they are not the same person they were when they went in and that they would not re-offend, of course there is no possible way that one could ever be 100% certain that a person has changed but I think most Americans believe in 2nd chances. But let's say a person convicted of murder had told the board that they had changed and somehow convinced the board that they wouldn't re-offend but then did, well, this clearly would prove that they didn't really change at all. In that case, the parole board made a big mistake. And that person is a one slick individual because that person was able to convince a parole board to release them into society only to commit more crime. That person should not have been released and should not be trusted again. Unless that person has a really good reason why they committed a crime, which is very rare, but there are occasions where a person was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and very unique circumstances caused them to either physically harm another or idk possibly break into a building to hide to save their own life, or some very unique circumstance that could show that they may not be as guilty as they look. It happens occasionally. You know, where things appear one way but it's not the way it really is, or not the way it went down. In conclusion all I'm saying is just because a person committed a past crime doesn't mean that they will commit a future crime, young people do stupid things but really do learn their lesson if jailed or actually really do change if punished, they're just not the same person and could be a very productive citizen and benefit lots of people. We cant just assume because someone was convicted of murdered that none will never change. I dont know what the repeat offenders number is. Maybe 80% Msybe its 50% I suppose I'd have to look it up. Maybe its lower than 50% but for example lets say it were 50% well, that means that, the other 50% didn't reoffend.

I am a survivor of child sex trafficking; a man came into my family when I was 4 and he pretended to be my step dad. He groomed and conditioned my whole family. When I was 14 I went to court but I was so traumatized I didn't remember when he begun taking pictures of me and other things when I was 4. I thought my step dad abused me after I went through puberty, I also thought I was a virgin.. But it took me until I was about 26 to remember that I was trafficked since the age of 4 for 10 years, he drugged and abused my entire family and didn't get charged with anything. Once I was 12 they threatened to literally get me fixed, if I was in todays society they would of said I was transgender and put me on puberty blockers!!! Thank god I had my father, My father was working construction and my mother kicked him out and thats when that predator came in he drugged and abused everyone in my family.. Even my baby sister who wasn't even one. They are manipulators and my family got brainwashed and my mom was manipulated into putting my father down and draining him of all his money. My father who has now passed worked in construction for over 30 years and had no time or support to handle what was going on, plus he honestly had no idea people do these kinds of things to children. I thank God everyday, I made it out of this weird pedophilic cult because of God. There is a ring in canada ontario. They are soo smart, target a family and trafficked all of them in there own house.. I really haven't spoken out about this but I am seeing a lot of the tactics the were used on me and my family in society. I am only speaking out so people are aware that children can look fed and not miss a day of school but are being trafficked at night. I really just want to prevent children from going through what I did because most people don't make it out. I was the only one and it killed my father that he feels responsible for being ignorant to that fact that a strange man came in to our home and screwed his entire family. My father just thought he wasn't a good enough man for my mom, while that man did unspeakable things to all his children and wife. Please don't leave men or women around your children!!

So many of you all want to put the Holy Spirit in a box and say,"Naw he can't pastor people because his past is online" you all fall into the category Candace was talking about on the clip. You are the "This is all you are and you can't change and be something else" group. The Holy Spirit does as He pleases and doesn't need anyone's permission. If God wants to make him a pastor for such a time as this, I can see a powerful ministry for him among the people whose past is online like his. I can see people saying, "If he can change there is hope for me too". I don't know him, but I hope he is legit. He could make an awesome impact for God. Interesting How God working always brings them "churched Pharasees" out of the woodwork. You realize they did the same to Jesus? "No, he can't belong to God because he disobeys our rules.". Go and learn what this means, "I desire mercy, not sacrifice". Would you be the one holding stones against the woman caught in adultery? You think her past magically went up in smoke? Yet Jesus told her, "neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more."

I hope this question doesn’t come out wrong, interested in what people think. People are saying porn, multiple sex partners and such has no bad impact and it’s just sex, nothing wrong with giving in to pleasure and consenting etc and being of legal age. And again, so sorry if this doesn’t come out right but if it’s true that sex is just sex and has no impact, why is it that sexually abused kids rarely or never get over the trauma? Abusers groom to make kids think it’s loving and so the child might “go along with it” because they don’t realise what’s happening to them. So why is the media and society saying sex and porn has no bad impact on people, when sex abuse in a child basically changes their brain and ruins them for life? And I say this as someone who was the victim of grooming as a child.

So perhaps he’ll be a more compassionate pastor 🤷🏻‍♀️ and for all those especially men judging this man… I can 💯 guarantee you’ve looked at porn or playboy or anything provocative on the internet or magazines/books at least a handful (literally) of times or a lot which contributes to this industry or inappropriate sexual desire that god forbids. Yes even Victoria Secret or just bikini catalogs count if you’re lusting over their pages 🙄 You’re not innocent no one is of sexual sin. I suggest we all go pray about ourselves and then give this man a chance to prove he can overcome his weaknesses. I am a nonbeliever. It is not a choice. In an attempt to rationalize my FAITH or 'what I believed', I realized I didn't have a good reason to believe other than being raised to believe. I don't evangelize my NON FAITH and I prioritize integrity in my life because I want to be part of the solution of doing my part to make a world better, not worse. However, having said that, it is very easily noticeable that the furthermore people drift from believing in a spiritual being, the more it is very obvious how our country seems to be morally bankrupt. Seems like things like LYING is almost just a common thing for most folks and people don't feel bad doing it... Also, being TRUE to your Word, in general, is rarer and rarer. It seems far more common that people don't honor their word than do these days, and as a society, we just seem to accept it. Sad times

I agree to a certain extent. A pastor cannot be a novice. You have to be called by God and appointed into that office (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-7). One also must have a good reputation within and without the church. The one thing that I don't agree is the fact that you have to go to Bible college. God does not require Bible College for someone to be in the office of a pastor. You have be taught by men of God who are sound in scriptuere and you must have sound doctrine. A lot of these new emerging churches just put people in the position without meeting the Biblical qualifications. Then they go on to destroy lives with false doctrine.

@@arbretree5463 But that is the point. You can't "study to become a pastor". God has to call you and give you the gift before you can be ordained to be a pastor. The fact that someone goes to Bible college does not qualify them to be a minister. If God does not call you, then the fruit and the gift of the calling will not be in your life. Being a pastor is not a career or something that you just do. When you are not called by God you will lead people to hell with your lies and your bible college heresies.

There are standards in the bible, which is God's word, about who can and cannot be a pastor. If you do not respect these standards laid out by God then you are disobeying God. Any true convert would respect that and decide not to be a pastor. I am not saying he is not truly saved because he may be ignorant to those commands or he may have bad influences, but thats a perfect example of why there are standards. Freedom from wrong comes through Jesus Christ Jordan. If you repent and believe the gospel message, you can have eternal life. Here it is. Would you consider yourself to be a good person - good enough to go to heaven? Try the test: How many lies have you told, and what do you call someone who lies? Have you ever stolen something (even when you were small. Even from your parents. Even a sweet), and what do you call someone who steals? Have you ever taken God’s name in vain (very serious; in Old Testament times, the Jews wouldn’t even say the name of God for fear of blasphemy) - even ‘OMG’? Jesus said whoever looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery in his heart; have you ever looked with lust? One more: Ever disrespected your parents? Well I’m not judging you - but if you’ve done these things then you’re a liar, thief, blasphemer, adulterer-at-heart and rebel, so you're not good enough to go to heaven; that’s how seriously God takes sin. He is Holy (perfectly good/righteous and separate from sin) which means that He is perfect in justice; that means that just like a just judge sentences criminals to pay for the wrong they caused, so does God sentence the payment of all sins. If a judge was in front of a guilty criminal and just said "I forgive you. Your crimes don't need to be paid for" that judge would be considered unjust. Justice means all wrong is punished - and if God were to judge you by the moral law (we’ve already looked at 5 commandments) would you be innocent or guilty? Heaven or Hell? The answer is hell - the wrath of God upon you for your sin. Is that concerning? But fortunately, God’s will is not that you perish. He wants all men everywhere to be saved. But all sin must be paid for, because he us just. So do you know what He did for us guilty sinners? In self-giving mercy, He sent His Son Jesus Christ to take the punishment for our sins (and here is why - - ->). He lived the perfect life that we should have lived - tempted at all points and yet He NEVER sinned. Through His life, being in very nature God, He revealed God to men; but we in our hatred condemned Him to death. On that cross as Jesus suffered, He took on the sin of the world and was judged in our place; receiving God’s wrath. You and I broke God’s law, but Jesus paid the fine. God can justly forgive us. On that cross He died, then He was buried, but 3 days later He was raised from the dead - conquering death and Hell and ushering in The Kingdom of God. He then ascended to the right hand of God the Father (where He came from) now Lord of the living and the dead. God has fixed a date when He will judge the world in righteousness. What you need to do is repent (In humility, acknowledge your sin before God and turn to a relationship with Him) and trust ALONE in Jesus Christ and His work on the cross; and God will grant you the gift of the Holy Spirit. Then be baptised. Jesus' perfect righteousness will be accredited to you and you can stand in a relationship with the God of the Universe, a Father. If you repent and believe the gospel. ROMANS 10:9 - If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved

@@joe5923 It's taking God's name in vain. When people say "Oh my God" it's taking His name as a cuss-word 9.9 times out of 10, if not a higher number. That's taking His name in vain. And it's both very and obviously different from saying "God's will." That's clear and it doesn't take much intelligence to see. So don't take God's name in vain. The Lord won't hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain (that's what He said in Exodus). He's gonna judge you, so repent Joe.

@@joe5923 Atheists exclaim "Oh my God" all the time. And I can guarantee you they aren't doing so to pray to God as what you're saying implies. They do so irreverently and it's blasphemous. And every time you do it, and it's not in the context of a prayer to God, it's blasphemy. Also you said "The God I believe in..." There aren't different Gods for different people, and what you or I believe about God doesn't change Him. He's not some relative concept. God is a particular way and what you or I believe about Him is either wrong or right. He's revealed Himself through the person of Jesus Christ and has been written down in the Bible. So take heed to what the Bible says about God. It's very clear He's going to judge the living and the dead, and that you need to believe in Jesus.

@@joe5923 I don't know what place you live in where you don't hear people saying "Oh My God". It happens all the time. It's a common societal impression meant irreverently. If you say "Oh my God" just as an expression and without due reverence, you are taking God's name in vain. . Jesus encourages humility, not pride. So You should stop trying to justify blasphemous sin, and should confess to God and repent.

@@joe5923 No Joe, you got it all wrong. My statement is that we often judge people who found Jesus, regardless of their sins. But that doesn’t excuse them from them, only in Jesus Christ can they be redeemed. If a serial killer kills someone they should still go to jail, should they find Jesus while in prison then that is between him and God. It isn’t our duty to judge that relationship. That’s the difference, there will always be consequences to our actions. No different to how this pornstar turned pastor will still face consequences for his action, just as you and I will face consequences for ours, for the rest of our lives and will be judged upon the merit of our faith in Jesus in the afterlife. That’s the difference.

@@joe5923 I agree there are still consequences for our actions and if it were a serial killer in our day and time, that would likely mean jail time. However, there is a difference between Godly repentance and someone claiming to be sorry for public appearances, etc. The Bible tells us a bad tree cannot produce good fruit and vice versa. So if Joshua's actions do not reflect a true change in lifestyle, you should be hesitant, but if his entire lifestyle has changed after coming to Christ (like Paul on the Damascus road, who the apostles were also leery of at first, btw, until they saw the changes in him), then yes, we should welcome them as fellow believers and rejoice.

When The idiot tells his friends what happend, who do they admire reverently? Their friend, The Guy who almost got himself killed? Or The Guy who Saved Him? The Gospel communicates that WE ALL are in the place of that idiot, FOR ALL HAVE SINNED AND FALLEN SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD!
